No probs Alex. Thanks for the effort. Regards Don. |
anyone think that a cat could restrict exhaust sound? my car has a full aftermarket 2.5" exhaust, with a single big cat in there and a magnaflow muff.... the car is quieter then stock! if i rip out the cat, will I actually be able to hear the car? |
yup ditch it and the one on your down pipe as well if you have gay exhuast and you do the full 3 inc you will see a massize gain your car might be as fast as a reg supra too lol |

It made a huge difference on my N/A, that is.. putting the cat in and ripping out the test pipe! fuck was that thing loud. I found a Center Support bearing that can be modified to fit the Mk3, Napa part # HB206-FF. Its $41, think its for a 92-94 Blazer but im not sure, rubber and bearing are pretty much the same dimensions, just need to weld on new tabs so it bolts up Im stoked. |
hey, so im gonna go look at a 2jz for sale on sunday, its not in a car, what should i be looking at on it to know if its a lemon. I know you cant tell if its cracked till you strip it and get it magnafluxed/sonofluxed but what is there that i should e checking? |
lol i was burping my coolant system today then the rpms went low so i got scared and turned it of.. when i turned it back on a few mins later a big puff of white smoke came out of the exhaust :cry: i'm too afraid to drive it |

no warrenty, its a private sale, $1200 for block with everything, and its local, which seems like a decent deal, im gonna go look at it to be sure, taking a bit of a risk, hope i dont get bit |

Check your coolant, does it 'smell' like exhaust or have oil in it? Does your car puff white all the time? or just a bit on startup? Does your exhaust smell sweet? (take a small wiff!) The reason you take out your thermostat is to prevent air pockets from building up there - that's also where the temp sensor is sitting, so if you do get air pockets there your temp will go really hot/cold. Also, air pockets are baaad mmmkay? They're bad because air=hot, and having dissimilar hot spots on the head can cause bad things, like warpage. The more you know! |
and knowing is half the battle |

ahh already built the new bearing, havent put it in the car yet. The old bearing had alot of play but im thinking most of the drivetrain play is coming from the control arm bushings and im way to lazy to tear that apart right now, theres alot of fuckin clunking going on back there.. pinion/gears seem fine though. |
no milkshake oil, i'll drive it around and keep my eye on the temp gauge.. thank goodness i have a spare head sitting here :) |
ok.... so i managed to get my old hatch off and started to finally put the new one on. do the bolts to the roof have to go in first? cause i bolted up the hatch struts first and now it wont push forward enough to line up the bolts at the roof. so im stuck with something that looks like this. http://img523.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wtfhatch.jpg |
i just dont get it, i drove my car tonight with no problems at all, no overheating or anything who knows, maybe my praying to the toyota gods payed off |
Anyone here have a JZA70 parts car they would be willing to sell the front suspension cross-member from hrm? http://www.turbosupras.com/images/te...20overhead.jpg |
finally got the hatch on, talk about a pain in the ass. |

i found a fail-safe thermostat awhile ago so when it fails it will just stay open instead of sticking shut like the regular ones do, good investment. i think i found it on ebay. |
