Enraged 05-24-2009 03:49 PM

god damn 20 year old wiring harness!

NashMan 05-24-2009 07:50 PM

what did you break lol

Enraged 05-25-2009 10:04 AM

nothing major, just all the original wiring loom is cracked and falling off, so I'm doing a bit of rewrapping. I might try some of the heat shielding wire cover too.

oh ya, and bending 1/2" aluminum hard line is a bitch with the shitty bender I have. I have a nice one that does perfect bends, but it only goes up to 3/8" line. I need 1/2" for the -8 lines. I started looking at the wiring harness and what I will and will not use (ditching cold start injector, ISC) and I wasn't sure above some of the VSVs. There are two connections for VSVs near the fuel rail, do I need either one? I'm doing so much rerouting of vacuum lines and such it gets confusing.

Enraged 05-25-2009 10:49 AM

so there are two VSVs, one that gets connected to that little diaphram on the stock throttle body, and one that gets connected to the EGR system. so, since I have an aftermarket TB and have ditched EGR, I guess I don't need either.

theres also the BVSV on the coolant elbow, but that works with the charcoal canister, which Nashman stole long ago.

Enraged 05-25-2009 12:53 PM

Ryan, you see this: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94380

might be good for you since your trans it out of the car.

so $200 later at Lordco, bunch more stuff to do. stupid AN fittings.

NashMan 05-25-2009 04:22 PM

to answer your qestion about the vsv bs just don't plumb them in there not much need any more since the egr is gone and who cares about cold starts just takes liek mabye 2 turn more to start same as when it very hot

you may wana plumb in the power streeing boost line but most of the time the vavle dies any way and is on you power streeing pump

oh yae don't use any thing but 3m tape or you will be very sorry later on

as for the gear naaa i thought about it long ago when i did my diff swap 3.73 to 3.91 but to just don't drive it that much to care about gas

mabye if i break it thou but still works and is all brand new

Enraged 05-26-2009 01:01 PM
