Enraged 12-14-2009 12:34 PM

how was the 87s paint?

wes-harrison 12-14-2009 02:46 PM

its not original and the front bumper had been chipped pretty badly...other than that it looked really good, interior wasnt as clean as i would like tho...but what do u expect for 2 grand

Enraged 12-14-2009 05:08 PM

true.

im keeping my eye out for a 92 turbo targa with shadow grey interior... preferably in grey/silver/black.

impreza_scott 12-14-2009 06:58 PM

I originally wanted a MK3 supra too but didn't like the automatic or RHD

Anyone know what it'd be like to swap a RHD to LHD? figure you just need a donor car?

mr_baboon 12-14-2009 07:01 PM

Why wouldn't you just buy a LHD 5speed, it's not like there's a shortage of them.

4doorVIP 12-14-2009 07:29 PM

RHDs have the 1J

wes-harrison 12-14-2009 10:06 PM

yea but to swap rhd to lhd you need a donor car...swapping a 1J in would be way easier:confused:

O rly?

it was hard to find one in decent shape without 200,000+kms

The Japanese ones have fewer kms and are usually in way better condition, nicer options, from what i've seen... plus it's JDM

USDM ones have burgandy interior.. lolwat?

Your spelling is usually shit, 1J's are great motors. I'd take a 1J over the 7M anyday of the week

donor cars are easy to find imho, maybe not supras? just find a non running supra... or check the j/y's

4doorVIP 12-14-2009 11:19 PM

Non running MKIIIs are easy to find ;)

wes-harrison 12-14-2009 11:21 PM

this shows you how much you know

for the price of 1j plus swap and to get it to do 500hp

I can do less on a 7mgte and still have more torq

these are the 1j's con's

cams are shit
stock tiwns are shit
stock fule rails are shit
stock fuel injector's are shit
1j map sencer is shit
hydro fans are shit

there is reason why they made the 2j cause it was better

so this is short and sweet

7m or 2j

I'm sure when some of these imported Aristo's and supra's with 1j's get up to 250,000 - 280,000K, like all of the domestic 7m's, there will be a lot of non-running 1j's too.

NashMan 12-15-2009 01:48 PM

^ if any thign is not cared for they will all die

Enraged 12-15-2009 03:42 PM

90% of the reason people think the 7M isnt reliable is because of poor and cheap maintainence by owners. Build it properly and dont cheap out, and it will last for ages.

Rx harnek 12-15-2009 08:40 PM

People say the 7m head gasket always blows out ive been hearing this from multiple people it is a re-occuring problem
