with a 3200 stall in your tranny and some good tuning, mid 12s are probably possible, but not on the tires you have now...

NashMan 08-18-2002 02:11 PM

225 did not work for me even whith 35 psi in my tires i got to fill thous bad boy up the ride back of heav over steer was funnny espicling on how jimmy drive 's

Enraged 08-18-2002 05:22 PM

sorry i didnt show ryan, i think i ate some bad food...

35 psi is alot. i run 30 psi daily. rev to 3250ish, drop the clutch, it spins, boosts, grabs, and goes...

well after my turbo and tranny rebuild, its going to be really interesting to see whats possible. i mean a 20G is not a common turbo on a Mk3, but the #'s put down by Duane im expecting some nice power output. as for Tuning, geez, just tuning the first 3000RPM of my S-AFC made all the difference in the world, i think for a first i actually have traction problems. before it was just point > shoot and go, never had the tires start cookin' on me during spool. well not on the 17"s atleast.

arggh im pissed right now. got a nail or a large staple looking thing in my tire and dont want to run a patched tire because of the dangers. so im gonna try and see if its possible to return my tires and get new ones. wonder what sort of warranty possibilities i have in this situation......

NashMan 08-18-2002 06:51 PM

they msure the tread lose and then give you new tire but you got to pay for the tred lose

NashMan 08-19-2002 05:48 PM

Enraged 08-19-2002 06:08 PM

best upgrade on stock size rotors would be powerslot slotted or powerSTOP crossdrilled rotors, with Porterfeild pads.

NashMan 08-19-2002 06:21 PM

well i know i not getting bembo ther nor eghou disk left after what they did to them thous are th one i was thinking of but i whould ratter get trd pad they rock and don't dust much and are not that bad on rotos as well but as for price hummm

Hondatech 08-20-2002 05:49 PM

Hey Supra fans....

My work just got in an '87 Supra turbo. Five speed, hardtop (no targa or sunroof), leather, electronic suspension (TEMS?), v rated Michelin Pilots, 121,000ish kilometers. We just re-did the brakes and the valve cover gaskets, oil change, few other things. It'll be going on the lot soon. No idea what price it's gonna be, but if you or anyone you know is interested, call Ron Trafford at Honda City. Tell 'em Sean from the shop sent you ;)

I'm not gonna check this thread too much, so if you wanna ask me something, best to PM me.

Enraged 08-20-2002 06:12 PM

met an older lady with a turbo auto 87. she said she thinks she might be having headgasket problems.... said it would be $3000 to fix. i and i didnt think to ask her if she was considering selling... DAMNIT! buy it for $3-4000, spend $1000 fixing it, sell it for $7500-8000.... pay off my car... lame.

Paradox 08-20-2002 06:39 PM

yeah, lots of people just want to sell their cars once they find out its going to cost a few grand to fix. just easier for the mechanically handicapped i suppose.

if ya see her around again you could always ask.

speaking of BHGs

HondaTech, how about you include the price of a new head gasket in that supra. say put in ARP bolts, HKS metal head gasket, get all the machining and lapping done... now that would be a supra worth buying! hehhe ;)

do you guys check the heads on supras before they go out? *im just curious* since ive seen so many MK3's in car lots before, none of them had any gasket work done, nor were the head bolts even been retorqued! :(

rental_metard 08-20-2002 06:56 PM

well i've gotten my HG fixed

i did just what the guy above said to do
hks w/ arp bolts

im just worried something else is gonna go :flamemad:

and i have some targa problems, anyone know where i can go to fix that.....

Hondatech 08-20-2002 06:58 PM

I mentioned the head gasket issue to the other mechanic doing the inspection on it, but I don't know if he ever went anywhere with it. I'n sure a savvy buyer could get a head bolt retorquing thrown into the deal.

Question, since I don't know as much as I'd like to about Supras, do the cams have to come out for the retorquing?

NashMan 08-20-2002 07:08 PM

nope just get eh anle wrench otu and turq away remmber 72 foot pounds if it good gasket caues you no if it old that can caues bhg

if the milage is over 170 then don't do it the gasket is to old

one other thing to do to the car to amke it nice is take off the ic and clean the rad out lots of garbage get up in there and caue shte gasket to go caue sof bad cooling and stuff

eheheh my brakes are bad i just look at em today i post what wroung in bit got ot work on car what light is left

Enraged 08-20-2002 08:32 PM

hey rental, how much would you be asking? i can always use a second car :)

same question for hondatech, any idea on pricing?

NashMan 08-21-2002 09:04 AM

NashMan 08-21-2002 05:30 PM
