rental_metard 09-24-2002 09:04 AM

ya i'll come to the next one for sure, i know i always say that, but im a very busy guy, work everyday and have a demanding girlfriend. ( good thing ) why dont we pick a day that we all dont work @ and go meet somewhere, sound good to you guys?

Enraged 09-24-2002 01:30 PM

i have fridays and saturdays off, and i work until 2 pm most other days.

murray doesnt work, hes just personally wealthy lol

so your cars getting painted? the same red? i cant wait to see it.

Scottietang 09-24-2002 01:40 PM

I can meet at any time.....

Paradox 09-24-2002 06:20 PM

my car may be down and without the downpipe adapter (aka larger turbo elbow) but its going into the tranny shop thursday...

rebuilding tranny with higher line pressure, 3000rpm stall torque converter, modified valve body(?) 24000 gvw tranny cooler... and im thinking maybe a tranny temp gauge mounted in the glove box.

i just hope this doesnt take too long. driving that nissan 240sx is scaring me. everytime i come to a red light, i swear ive stalled the thing, its so damn quiet.

rental_metard 09-24-2002 06:59 PM

why dont we meet like a weekday, ( tuesday, wednesday or thrusday ) i get off @ 8 or on a weekend before 4pm.
i work everyday :flamemad:

NashMan 09-24-2002 07:37 PM

how was driven my car muray like my shifter hehehe

but yae i can be up for any meet

i say some time afrer mury's car come's from the shop

we not going to weight for toby to get his down pipe caue sthat whould be for ever hehehhehe

but just post if i don't answer icq that is caues i haven probs whiht it and stuff

ps scottie you should put supra as your sig then vw rabbit

Paradox 09-24-2002 08:36 PM

yeah VW Rabbit, whats up with that scottie? heh

driving your car was a little weird compared to the 4 banger 240sx man. you really gotta stomp on your gas to get it to rev... either that or the seat was just way too far back. christ you arent that much taller than me are you? im like 5'11 or 6ft i think

Scottietang 09-24-2002 09:19 PM

haha........but i still miss my rabbit.....it still sitting in my garage cause I dont want to sell it.......
but is a big difference btw the rabbit and supra.......

Paradox 09-24-2002 09:32 PM

no doubt. VW Rabbit is nothing like a supra

id much rather have the supra... its a far better car :)

NashMan 09-25-2002 09:06 AM

ooo now i want to drive your car i have not driven a na in long tiem hehehe well 5 spd i drive chris na btu it an aupot it was fun thou

NashMan 09-26-2002 05:03 PM

oh it will but when

booooooooost boooooooost i love booooost

Paradox 09-26-2002 09:01 PM

GREDDY SUX MY ASS! .... im never going to see that elbow

time to go with a custom build. the only benefit i can see is that it'll be 3" right from the turbo down. im not sure what the size of the Greddy elow is...

on the downside. i have to pay for it.

one of these days my car will be back on the road... i swear! hehe

amazing how little screw ups like this can cause so much havock. even the guys rebuilding my tranny need the engine to be running to figure out where the stall limit is, and where it should properly be. so all they can do for now is yank the tranny out and hopefully i can get this custom part made for them in the meantime.

Enraged 09-26-2002 10:39 PM

ask on supraforums for specs on your rebuild, someone will probably have some good ideas. from what i understand, 3200 stall, upgrade clutches, increase line pressure.... but thats about all i know, and i dont really know what it means :)

Paradox 09-26-2002 11:17 PM

its not worth asking. as so many people have told me -- "all cars are different" even if theyre running the exact same setup. and its the same with torque converters. the place ive taken my car too builds trannys for drag cars and such. there was a dodge viper in the parking lot while i was there...

anyways. the stall limit should be put where the car will best accept it, so just generally saying 3000rpm is a good stall or whatever is generally wrong. the have to test it to see where the stall limit is now (the stock can be raised to a certain level with just power upgrades, the torque converter just adjusts to it) so they define where that is, and where your engine is actually kicking in, along with when boost is kicking in, factor that to your rear end gear ratio. and viola you have the proper RPM to bore the torque converter out to..

err i think thats sorta how it goes. shit i dont know what im talking about either. but the guy tried explaining it to me. and ive read somewhat of the same sorta idea on the internet before..... as for the rest of the tranny, thats just one helluva crazy abyss. i have no idea how the damn thing works. but aslong as they can get me squeeling the tires into 3rd, instead of sloppy 5 second long shifts, i'll be happy :)

NashMan 09-26-2002 11:17 PM

well whent tuning tonight and this is what i get

get this i hamme it off the line i hit 10

now when iam on roll i hit 14 pounds

i think i got some boost creep or some thing

Enraged 09-27-2002 09:37 AM

well it sounds like the shop knows what they are doin hehe

14 psi?

Scottietang 09-27-2002 12:55 PM

I am looking for new suspension for my car, I want to get the H&R spring but dont know about the strut......

Can anyone tell me the difference between Koni yellow, KYB GR2, and Tokico Illumina II?

and which site has the best price on these?

and where is the best place to get them installed?

I want to get everything done under 1k........

H&R is a good choice. i use them. its a great progressive spring.

as for struts, id suggest Koni Yellows, www.suprasport.com has them for a decent price, you can also ask at a local Lordco

KYB's are garbage if you plan on pushing your car hard, or if you want to do any autocross.

Tokico Illumina II's are for TEMS arent they? im not sure if it was the II's or which. those are also good, but i think more expensive.
