Paradox 02-07-2003 09:58 PM

i dont see how it could cave it, but uhh as you know my car slid off the jackstands and left a nasty dent in the passenger side floor.. ive hammered it out for the most part.. but that was not a pleasant experience

i swear i have the worst luck. hahah

fuzebox 02-08-2003 12:34 AM

My overflow bottle is emptying very quickly now... I have to fill it every 3 days. I also leave coolant and oil on the ground, and top up maybe a litre of oil every week. Rod knock is getting louder and is more prevelant through the rpm band...

I should get my line of credit VERY soon, in which case this motor and all it's problems will be pitched!

So who wants to buy 7M parts (minus the ct26, I'm keeping that)

NashMan 02-08-2003 01:01 AM

humm maybe you have bad hose i do i found my leak hehe i i know what hose it is too dang it of well i will fix tommro wo sick now sooo blaaaaa

ps fuse box why not rebuild your eninge that way you know it will be good and ready to go and replace part and such

Because it will cost a shitload more... A used motor will be ready to go as well, and replaced parts aren't required. I'll know it's good because it'll come with a warrenty that will take care of things if something goes wrong :p

NashMan 02-08-2003 01:55 AM

when my motor got rebult cost about 900 or so buck it not that exp really and you know it will be done right

me and my bro did the work head rebuilt/new pisotn gasket set not that exp if you do ti your self and if shop doe sit about 1000 at most for engine rebuild

NashMan 02-08-2003 01:56 AM

so that is about 2500 to 3000 whith some head room fi you get it doen by some ones els

Paradox 02-08-2003 04:34 PM

900,1000, 2500 or 3000? thats a rather broad estimate heh.

i could use your coilpacks if you get a new engine, Fuzebox..

fuzebox 02-08-2003 04:49 PM

Interesting post on the SOGI list today... And here I always thought Nashman was full of shit. A guy did 3 dyno pulls with his stock turbo cams, swapped in NA cams, and then did 3 more pulls.

Results?

Turbo cams. 268.0 rwhp 284.6 rwt
N/A cams. 277.9 rwhp 301.9 rwt

I feel guilty... Sorry Nashman.

P.S. Yes, I could probably do it for ~ $1000 if I did the work myself, but I don't know how to rebuild an engine, nor do I have the time to do it. For that same $1000 I can get a decent engine and a new CT26 and have it all swapped over a couple of days, and still come out ahead financially.

:p

Enraged 02-08-2003 05:01 PM

ya, saw that post, but ill still wait until dr jonez tests them on his blue car. exhaust cam is the same, and i dont see how there could be a jump of 10 rwhp and 15+ ft-lbs torque from changing just the intake cam.

id rather get custom ground cams, colt cams does them fairly cheap.

NashMan 02-08-2003 05:30 PM

it ok fuze box i was fighting that battel for long time but i did some reseach and i found then to be better

it more of power change it kinda hard to explain as in diffetn power band

ps you knwo teh reson why i decided to do this is i listen to my naibor i had 2 set i still ahve one set left too

but i asked him what cam him ran in his car he said eh just an intake and theni asked him what ti do he said it gave mroe turq i was really this is in 350 chevy so i thought i try it and i did and have bean very happy whiht them

ps i stil ahve one setleft ot sitting in my back yard too hehehe sell sell

baa i try to explain what it feeles like

the na's have more of pull back in the highrpms the the turbo ones do rpms they feel the same roughly at lower rpms

ps most pof every one i have talke dot whiht these cams have notice fule cuts as high as 14 to 15

NashMan 02-08-2003 09:36 PM

Paradox 02-09-2003 09:31 AM

haha yeah i saw that last night. i was randomely flipping through channels and he came on

he didnt seem as drunk as on conan tho. hahah

i guess he had to act a little more serious on that show. although he still didnt do a very good job of that..

when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro!

NashMan 02-09-2003 10:17 AM

abinga 02-09-2003 11:21 AM

how much horsepower does a 89 nonturbo supra have?

Paradox 02-09-2003 11:23 AM

you can too spray down your engine. just gotta be careful to cover up all the electronics... ive sprayed down my engine before using degreaser.

this time i didnt cover up around the spark plugs much because thats where all the crap was. and i wanted it out! anyways once i put it back together it should be fine

i want new coil packs to perhaps help my idle since ive replaced everything else that would logically cause idle probs (spark plugs, wires, vac hoses, acordian hose, etc)

i wonder if its the lexus AFM. i should put my old AFM back on and see how it idles

and its hard to get a NA to really pull. turbo is the only way to go ;)

Lageno 02-09-2003 11:29 AM

How much does it cost to put a turbo in there?

NashMan 02-09-2003 11:34 AM

here is neat copy and paste

as for poping in turbo humm it can be done ehhehehe :D

why are you planing on doing it or some thing

Lageno 02-09-2003 11:36 AM

Probably not, I gotta find a better job before I can do shit like that. I'll just get a new Supra somewhere later on down the road.

NashMan 02-09-2003 11:37 AM

hey muray you shoudl drop in the old one and se ewhat it does afrter you put allyou turin to stock

but if ti ide's fine why not try this drill out the screw on you afm and then exten dthe bolt and half tune it by bolt and afc

Paradox 02-09-2003 11:45 AM

that AFM screw is useless, i swear its only like 1/4" long

as to why its even there is a mystery to me.

Enraged 02-09-2003 12:19 PM

i saw that guy on channel 29 last night.... man, he talks like ryan types... i couldnt understand a word he said...

hmm... should i order springs today? i think i might, have to check the finances...

NashMan 02-09-2003 01:03 PM

oooooo springs heheheh

hhe i need new shocks my eibock killed my newish shock in like 2 1/2 years to much spring rate hehehehe

well drillit out and then make it longer

NashMan 02-09-2003 01:07 PM

toby you shoudl get trd springs there sweet a more spring rate then the h&r's and tiny bit more rate for the rear then the eibocks

Paradox 02-09-2003 02:46 PM

lies..... all lies!

H&R's have the highest spring rate. you just wont admit it! :D

i think Hunter s Thompson was talking so quiet cause hes old, drunk and senile, his writting is much better...... amazing writer, hes about the only reason i read books, hes comparable to Kerouac or William S Burroughs. to call him a legend would be a understatement.

anyways... today i finally got to buy a MKIV supra in Motor City online.... only cost 600,00 MCO dollars. hehe

hows 810HP and 790ft/lb torque sound? with handling to match.
