well i weigh in at 93kg back in the day but lost about 30 pounds

and i am bigger then tj

i for get eh convetion now i think it 1.2 or 1.5

SilverMK3 02-24-2003 11:09 PM

I'm pretty sure the conversion factor is 2.2
I weigh 185lbs so that would be 84KG - my license says I weigh 80KG.

So I did a search on MR. WRX's parents' Supra on the forums here and found a post where he said it had blown the headgasket twice..... what kinda stuff gets damaged after a BHG? Aren't things more prone to corrosion and doesn't the turbo tend to go right after one? I wonder how badly damaged the block and head were...

Paradox 02-24-2003 11:35 PM

if the car wasnt driven to the extent of overheating, the head shouldnt be warped.. for the most part it really depends how much the car went through

you wont be able to tell how much actual damage was done unless you could check it out with the head off. there could be piston damage

its almost cheaper just to find another used engine and swap it in

machining aint cheap!

well when you blow a head gasket this that can go wroung are

if it's really bad you can get crotion on the block and then have to get it decked same with the head if this does happen the head will be worth less as in replace it

the onyl thing that can go wroufn when you blow hg is you get chalking whihte carp on you o2 as for piston damge naa that wonte happen comsit gast do don't no damge at all metle ones do and if this was ot happen you get bad blow by

but any way the car should be fine were talking bad blows here

when you get piston damge it cause be detaion that means it usly will blow between cyc or inot water jackes

if the oil goes milky that menas the head is crack or badly warp so badly

other wise the car shoudl be fine it was all fix by toyota so they whould nto lets stuff liek that slip by

any who if you wan tot buy the car go for it and if you want me to come whiht you to check out every nock and cranny i will

well, I'm 18 and weight about 160 0r 165. Is that around 60 kg??? I dunno.

SilverMK3 02-25-2003 08:43 AM

60kg should put you at about 132lbs.
165lbs would be 75kg.

So how did it blow its head gasket twice? Is it a lemon? Would everything survive a third BHG? I want it, but I don't wanna pay out my nose for something that'll only last me a few years. I still have to go to the bank to see how much they'll lend me, and I have to find out how much I can get for my NA.

Enraged 02-25-2003 01:20 PM

multiply KGs by 2.2 to get LBS, i do it all the time filling propane tanks.

as for the BHG on Mr. WRXs parents car, if you really want the car, get an inspection done on it, and get them to do a leakdown test. there are a few shops around here that charge about $85 to get it inspected, and they give you a sheet of everything that is wrong with the car. my sister got her VW done, it needed new tires, new struts, and a few misc things.

what year was that car? dont jump into it if your unsure, its better to get all the financials going and then find a car thats worth the money.

regarding loans, the loan i got for my car was a personal loan, not an auto loan. there are a few differences. i had to put up my MKIII and my old car as collatoral for the loan, so if i defaulted on the loan, the bank would take both cars. but i only owe $1500 on it now, i might pay it off in march :)

NashMan 02-25-2003 01:35 PM

well when head gasket blow tiwice doe snot mean it lemon it mean it was done improper 2 time's in row or the bolts they used were deftice or if the head was warped and they had ot muchince it stright and then it rewaped it self again caus eth ehead is weaker and kidna liek alstick

but all in all should not worry if it over blow again just fix it right the frist tiem and it will never happen again

rental_metard 02-25-2003 02:13 PM

ok ya that makes sense, i was like i've seen that kid before theres no way he's that light... 132lbs is like a 12year old

SilverMK3 02-25-2003 03:06 PM

blah, looks like I'm in the same boat as Parad0x....
Here's the letter I just wrote: http://www.entreri.net/forums/licenseAppeal.pdf

Paradox 02-25-2003 04:54 PM

heh, dave our law system is messed, although your intentions are good, i highly doubt you can plea to get much time off, you'll probably end up with a 1 month suspension at best, which is still a pain...

sorry couldnt do car today ryan...

and id guess im using the GM o2 sensor, i also bought a bunch of shit at the same time thats why i got a discount

Enraged 02-25-2003 06:27 PM

damn Napa cant get the o2 sensor i want. $58, its a screw-type with an 2bolt adapter so it will bolt right on.

on another note.. looks like ill be picking up a new mod next thrusday, i have to take a ferry to get it, but it should be cool....

fuzebox 02-25-2003 06:49 PM

Those letters of appeal don't do dick... I'd be surprised of the Minister of Transportation even opens them.

I wrote one almost 2 years ago that got my 2 month suspension shortened to a month, but all my friends have gotten 2-6 month suspensions and don't even get responses to their letters.

Paradox 02-25-2003 06:52 PM

i wrote one of those letters way back when, aswell... when i had too many speeding tickets, i never got a responce..

hey Toby, going to buy Duanes wheels? ;)
