Cheerios,

Gorgeous shot, but it feels really tilted - check the waterline on the rocks.

Nice control of the white background, no visible light spilling.

I can't put my finger on it yet, but something seems to be lacking in the photo. I'll sleep on it and look at it again tomorrow. maybe I'm just tired.

Soundy 03-29-2007 11:04 PM

If you sleep on it, you might crush the flowers... :(

Doc 03-29-2007 11:19 PM

Thanks guys.

You were right on both counts. Tilted horizon and banding. I edited the image too quickly.

It was a single shot in RAW: 162seconds, ISO-100, F10, 12mm.

Cheers,

This one I made with my ring that has my girlfriend's name and the word "I love you" in portuguese and the heart shadow.

A bit cheesy but I like it. :)

Or should I say, a bit cheesy, but it did the trick! ;)

maybe a bit more white space in the frame? That might make the "feel" of the shot better.

I've seen that picture done before... I can't remember whether it was dpchallenge or deviantart... plus I think your exposure is off, it looks like the camera metered to make the pages 18% gray.

if you go back a few dozen pages, there is a version by someone on here, and there are two versions that i posted from Deviant Art.

Its totally been done (with filters, etc), but at least this one is a little more personlized :)

I find that the colour is a bit bland in my 20d. Should I turn up the saturation or play with the parameters (saturation, contrast, color tone, etc) settings on the camera?

smurf 04-05-2007 11:48 PM

Haven't posted for awhile or visited the forum for awhile.
