smurf: To add depth in your photograph you would have to dodge and burn or use curves.

To do it in camera in the future, create a light source behind the doorway to create separation from the doorway to the background.

mmm the first justin.

I'm ready to get my ass (tightened???) tommorow ;)

I really like the first photo, and LOVE the second. The third is good, but it's too dark and busy behind the bird on the left; so much that it's almost hidden..maybe burn or dodge around it and then convert to black and white??

dspirit79 04-18-2007 09:09 PM

Thanks Colin,

B+W on the 3rd is just a god awful mess. Unfortunately the bird was too far away so I couldn't use a flash to bring it out. Oh well... such is life. Didn't want to mess with the photos much.

I really like the 2nd one too. I like the way the sunlight kisses the leaves from behind.

dub.dub 04-18-2007 09:54 PM

i like the 2nd one the most too justin. the third one is quite hard on my eyes to focus :\

i see a lot of your pamphlets at bubble world ;)

picture of a building that we have a listing in. Not sure if I'll use this shot or not though. The dark sky might be too "powerfull" I might just blow it all out to try to lighten up the mood, or else do a day shot with clear blue sky.

Either way, thought it looked sorta cool.

CK..I'm looking to buy a place in Van for the next summer (possibly something that is building right now and will be finished by May/June/whatever next year).
We should talk....

yes, unfortunately, I really can't help you out too much as I live in Kelowna. But if you like, I can find you a really good realtor in your area! :)

I heard this area referred to the 'Main & Hastings' area has cheap housing....

ColinK 04-19-2007 09:10 AM

I like that airplane shot better. With a little more saturation and contrast it might look a touch better too. IMO

dub.dub 04-19-2007 09:21 PM

airplane shot hand held?

dspirit79 04-19-2007 10:24 PM

Yes, airplane shot hand held.

There is something wrong with this picture. The forground/midground are very yellow toned, while the sky is to blue. I'm sure you did a lot of photoshop work, but I think you should play with changing one or the other to make them blend together nicer

MikesJo 04-20-2007 01:38 AM

Kev, I like how you flipped that an unusual way, threw me off with the ground on the right.

Alphamale 04-20-2007 01:42 AM

^^ same..that is such a trippy ass shot.

Domani 04-20-2007 07:53 AM
