What, you bought an $800 lens just to take Senna's picture??? I wouldn't spend $8 for that!

I think this is my first time posting in this thread! Anyways, here are some portraits I took of my friends after an _epic_ IKEA trip on Sunday. Who know you could make ice cubes into so many different shapes?

The middle photo of Greg, I don't know. I think he was going for the unibomber look.

Thanks Tom, but I don't really agree with the photo not having any meaning. They mean a lot to the person having the photos taken. Not every photo needs to tell a story, have multiple metaphors attached to them or cause you to look deeper.

Sometimes a portrait is just that. A photo of someone.

But anyways, my throat is sore from cheering for the Canucks, I'm tired and I need to be at work at 6:30 tomorrow. Bed time!

Well said Naomi, I’ll agree with you on that one. If I put myself in that picture it would totally be a different experience.

Thanks for sharing your work, keep it up!

*ps, invite me over to your studio if you get it up and running *

naomi, what lens were you using (f-stop and focal length when shot)? Or did you blur in ps?

Once again, love the macro shot. Your macro is always great!

I like the Stanley Park shot too (well, more downtown than Stanley Park). I can see where you stiched the photos together. Did you use PS for that or a different program? I've never actually tried this in PS. Is it hard to do?

Thanks.

It's not hard if you use a dedicated stitching program. The trick is in setting manual exposure for shooting all your component shots, so you don't get different exposure from one frame to the next.

The middle one is the best of the series...but his right eye is slightly out of focus.

All of the shots are the same exposure....stupid canon photostitch program puts in those dark lines. Does a better job than PS CS2 though.

The studio is already up and running. I just have no where to sit yet. But that's ok, the floor never hurt anyone.

It's in Surrey, so I won't usually be there until the weekends, but anyone who wants to go out, just drop me a PM.

the photo on the left was a 30mm, the middle and the one on the right was a 50mm. I believe they were all set on the widest aperture. Nothing was done in photoshop except color correction and tinting to the photo on the left.

As for lighting setups:

Photo #1: Small strobe to the upper right
Photo #2: Ambient light + small strobe to fill
Photo #3: Small strobe to the left + white reflecting panel to the right

Nice job on those, kwazy. What program did you use to stich them together? Can't see any lines in those pics at all. Very nice.
