i cant get enough of this shot
1) he's hot
2) love the blue/black contrast
3) good pose, though i wish he wasn't doing the thing with his lips.. but still awesome pose.

Soundy 04-29-2007 11:49 PM

Oh, and what WOULD you prefer he was doing with... uh... oh, nevermind... ;)

dspirit79 04-30-2007 07:04 AM

hahahahah!!!

Thanks for the comment again Dottie. Glad you like Luke. ;)

As for his lips... well the look was intentional. My verbal cue was to think of a "dilemma".

Senna4ever 04-30-2007 08:50 AM

The right side of his face is a bit washed out..?

dspirit79 04-30-2007 08:54 AM

New style of shooting. Usually I don't like washed out tones like that, but apparently it is what editorial photography is like.

I'm still sitting on the fence with this style... I'll probably make a decision about whether I will keep the style or not in the next couple of weeks.

That being said, none of the skin is actually clipped. Detail still exists there. Although your monitor might indicate otherwise. I'm going to make some prints and see how they turn out.

LOVE this shot. The other 2 are okay, but this shot is fabulous.

I, on the other hand, like all the shots, but like the last one the most. It's more difficult to campture such shot.

Car Chick 05-01-2007 07:42 PM

for me, i loved the 1st shot, didn't care for the 2nd and like the 3rd. I'd crop the 3rd and only leave the one puffy guy with the escapeguy. :P

Found this while sorting through old pics... took it a couple years ago on the way to Whistler. This is from the viewpoint north of Squamish looking out at the Tantalus Mountains.

I really like the photo too, and maybe it's just an anal retentive thing of mine, but the lint on his jacket is really really distracting to me. It's all I see and is distracting from the photo. It wouldn't make it into a magazine like that. Buy a lint roller!

:P

Thanks :)

Yeah, that's just using my 300D's kit lens (cheap 18-55mm), no lens hood... shielded as best I could with my hand but it didn't really help much. No polarizer either, as that could mess up the exposure from one frame to the next.

Don't remember what I used to stitch it, probably whatever came bundled with the camera (PhotoStitch maybe?)

Actually have all the shots for 360 degrees, but the back couple just show the roof of my car and the road and the trees along the other side of the road really didn't stitch well, so I left a little out at the ends. :)

Yes... Lint roller would have been cool. Darn lint.

not too sure how I like this shot. comments?

ColinK 05-02-2007 10:19 AM

why do all of my pictures look much more desaturated once I've uploaded them? Does that make any sense to anyone? Could it be imageshack?

dspirit79 05-02-2007 10:35 AM

What mode are you editing/shooting in?

Adobe RGB has a tendancy to do that.

Web is designed for sRGB

I find the photo a little busy. My eyes flutter all around trying to find something to rest on.

dspirit79 05-02-2007 10:40 AM

Kung Fu Kick it is Mike.

shooting in raw, but it is set to adobe rgb. So if I change it to sRGB (in the photoshop raw editor) and then open it in ps, I should be all good?

btw, I love that kung fu shot! haha

dspirit79 05-02-2007 01:10 PM

Save your final output to sRGB. That'll fix it.

ColinK 05-02-2007 01:19 PM

^ wow! What a difference! thank you!

RGB
http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/1...465copyus1.jpg

sRGB
http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/1056/img5465zc4.jpg

I changed it by going to Edit>Convert to Profile and then changing it to sRGB
