Senna4ever 10-13-2007 02:53 AM

:lol Well, since my previous 6 images didn't illicit much of a reaction, I thought I'd kick it up a notch.

The SPAM was for um, err....irreverent surrealism. :D

wow looks like a blast from the past:P

Levitron 10-15-2007 02:27 AM

You need a bigger softbox.

77civic1200 10-15-2007 05:57 AM

Just happen to have porn lying around eh? =)

oh, and in the second shot, how many decks is that, I see more than 4 aces

dspirit79 10-15-2007 07:56 AM

I can't say that I'm a fan of the cross lighting effect you have going on. The shadows are awkward on the guy wearing the leather jacket.

I would have to agree that either a bigger soft box or an additional softbox could help.

Thanks. Ya, it was taken at the blue bridge. I was in Victoria for a couple days. Actually, I got the inspiration from your photo(the 2nd one you posted), I saw it in your flickr page.
I really like your 2nd parliament photo.

I didn't really like it either, but that's at they wanted, so that's what they got. I wanted to light up the background to get it pure white and have them stand away from the BG more....and use another strobe w/softbox. In a much more different arrangment. They had the lighting set up already, so I just took pressed the shutter. They're happy with the shots, so I guess that's what matters the most.

This what the set-up looked like. The lighting was quite uneven, as you can see. I turned down the power of the strobe on the boom because it was too powerful.

vs. older version:
http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/3590/img9790hu7.jpg

which do you prefer? Based on the original critique of the second posted image, i realized the white border made me look away from the depth of the photo, rather than draw me in... Do you agree?

K-Dub 10-16-2007 01:18 PM

holy border batman.

mc25 10-16-2007 01:22 PM

I agree. I like the first photo better. It makes the trees have a nice proportional feel, where as the one in the white border feels kind of small.

Np.
One thing I also noticed, it gives it a softer feel, somewhat warmer. The other border is harder, and has a colder feel.
