Lighting info:
-2pm sun to camera right (so it's high up)
-Vivitar 3700 strobe on 1/4 power to camera left under the camera
Yeah...I was pretty damn bored yesterday.

Justin, I love that first pic! It's fantastic! The only thing I can think of that would have made it any better yet was if he was wet. I think the drops would have lit up very nicely |

Justin, few comments regarding your shots:
-I like the play on light....but there seems to be a lack of light
-Boost the exposure a tad? +0.5 maybe?
-The black and whites look better than the colour one to show the tone of his muscles....I guess thinking "Greek statues" would be what I'm referring to.
-Seems to be two light sources (window to left, strobe to right?)...what about trying to lite one from the top to give some highlight?
Other than that, glad to see you experimenting!

My new toy: Sony A700 w/ Zeiss 16-80mm f3.5-4.5 T* lens. This thing is FAST! Really responsive AF and the screen is beautiful. The lens is amazingly sharp. ISO 6400 isn't as good as a classmate's D300, but it's ok for B&W.

Setup is 3 lights
Kick light from the back and 2 strobes on either side feathered in a closed down umbrella. Didn't have another PW and left flash slave on my bookshelf at home.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll think over the +0.5EV. I'll probably make a print and finalize a decision.

Besides, the 40D has inferior AF.

^I think there's a couple cartridges still sitting in a drawer up at our cabin. They're probably about 20 years old...

I wonder what they would look like if used....maybe like nothing I would imagine.
There are some refrigerated 126 film available for sale on eBay, but then I'm wondering if it's worth it. The camera itself was only $3, and the film is about $10 for two canisters.

For a whole $10, hey, why not? Might be interesting to see the effect it produces. The REAL catch might be finding somewhere to process it (although it should be standard C-41, I don't know how many minilabs would be tooled to physically handle the film).

^^^ Panasonic LX2 pushed to 1600ISO. I wasn't going for a technically good shot for it though. I didn't bother with any PP, as you can see.
