That lens was tempting too, but for the extra premium, the constant aperture was worth it.

I can't wait to put it through it's paces... the AF motor is LOUD though.

yea, same here. I was pretty upset about it at first, but got used to it quite quickly.

but I think I only paid like $350 or so for it

^That is NEARLY epic... but what's that "moon" to the top-right??

What's really cool about it is that I've never ever seen a hummingbird pic where the point wasn't to either show off the colors of the bird, or the photog's ability to freeze the wings.

I kinda thought so, but then it sorta looks like a reflection on glass. Might have worked if it was a little more in-focus, although personally I think it would be better not there at all (too distracting).

heh if you can tell me how to make the moon more in focus shooting hand held with my 70-200 in that light i'd love to hear. i was sitting in a chair smoking a joint playing with my friends 5d and that little homie rolled along for a last minute drink. its really just a snapshot i thought i'd share

haha thanx colin! im thinkin we should set up the hwy33 trip for mid sept? on top of all my stuff i'll bring along a 5D and 50 1.2L to play with we should head out sooner tho for some local shots tho!
