Definite yes on the local shots. I'm planning to leave to Europe for a week or two mid september, so we might have to go a little earlier.

Right now I'm wondering if a trip out to Kelowna, beating you up and stealing your 1.2L is cheaper than just buying one.

If it was a 85 1.2L, I'd already be driving.

^I'll split gas with you if I get to keep the 5D?

I have plenty of masks and golf clubs at home...

=)

A cable release would've been helpful.

Okay!

(Aside: I'll just club him on the way home...then I'll have the 5D, 50 and gas money!)

...when should I pick you up?

hmm,.. how did you know i didn't use a cable release? Because the photo's are blurry? This was my first time doing firework pics, and I had a hard time adjusting the manual focus with the tiny viewfinder. So that may also be a cause of the blurriness,.. haha

but yes, time to get a cable release.

not too sure yet. Probably gonna fly in and out of amsterdam (cheapest there) then maybe down to the algarve in portugal, possibly ibiza again, the island of corfu in greece, then up to Oktoberfest and then back to amsterdam and home

Not because of the blurriness...but the degree of blurriness. The squiggles are probably a result of camera shake due to pressing the shutter by hand. I know because...I've done it too. ;)

You get better by shooting more and learning.

MUNCHEN! I love being in Munich...probably one of my favorite European cities...especially for Oktoberfest.

I can't wait to go to Europe again. I really want to hit Ibiza...Prague...and a bunch of places in Eastern Europe.

Both great shots!

First one is a little crooked - not much, it looks more slanted than it is because of an optical illusion, but the horizon doesn't line up with the edge of the window.

Second one would be killer in straight B&W with a little deeper contrast.
