There isn't a time in a chinese mans life when he isn't wanting to be sitting around a table of food....from the time of birth, we're around food, we propose to our wives around food, and we get divorced over food.
so STFU! .... im gonna go eat now
ps - something to brag about is the greeks coined the term "doing it greek" enjoy that!

I have to agree that the biggest food critics have got to be asian. Haven't you ever seen Iron Chef? Awesome show.
As the above hot asian chick poster mentioned, the only thing the greeks are famous for is taking it up the bum.

I noticed I haven't posted any pictures in a while, and I just bought myself a new 50mm 1.8, so I figured I'd buckle down, edit my pics, and share the magic... so here you go.
C & C encouraged.
I'm aware I overdid the eyes in two of the shots, and that I have a rediculous amount of chromatic abberation there, but anyways... bring it on.

Holy cow Joh, your photo's are getting better and better each time you post man. Kudo's, that one's great!
Len: Adorable cat! I think you did a nice job capturing it and I don't think you "overdid" the eyes. You did draw attention to them but I'd say it just does a good job of pulling the focus in where it should be. Well done. Is that seriously CA though? At first glance I though "wow that's some bad CA" and then I figured that you must have some kind of purple light source in the room. I've never seen CA that bad in any photo! Just makes me hate that 50 1.8 so much more haha.

Exactly, I've never seen that much CA at all. Did you magnify it somehow in PS?
Which picture were you referring to for Joh's picture? I want to see.
HyperREV: love the sky and that green water! How'd you get the clouds to pop up like that?

You know... now that I think about it, that may have come from the TV.
Anyways, thanks for the comments.
HyperREV: It's too bad you didnt bracket that shot so you could get the same contrast and dramatic effect throughout the whole picture as you did in the sky.

Yup, impossible for that to be CA. CA only occurs in high contrast situations.

most fast lenses exhibit a certain level of chromatic abberations when shot wide-open or near wide-open, but the more expensive ones usually handle that aspect a little better than the cheaper ones, i.e. the 50/1.8.
From my experience with using Nikon's 35/2, 50/1.8, and 50/1.4, the latter two are identical when shot wide-open, but the 1.4 version cleans up nicely when stopped down to f2 and beyond, whereas the 1.8 has to go down to f2.8 or so to make it CA-free.
So it's not that the 50/1.8 is bad, it's just bad when shot wide-open in high contrast areas. More expensive primes handle that better, that's all.

Its a great cheap sharp lens. | I could shit a more well built lens. The bokeh is also more distracting at the same aperture than the 50 f/1.4 and 50 f/1.0 made by canon. I've also found my 1.4 to be a fair bit sharper than my 1.8. The autofocus is inaccurate, slow-ish and noisy. The lens barrel is more loose than the women on hastings and main. There's no focus distance meter. I 'enjoyed' it when I had it, but I certainly don't miss it.
I sold it for 100 bucks but in all honesty, what's 100 bucks? I wish I had kept it just so I could absolutely destroy it in some grand fashion. Or maybe keep it for a lens that I'd shoot in any conditions with.

Maybe you just got a really shitty copy?
