Was out in Steveston today. First opportunity I've had to play around with the 10-22 I bought a few weeks ago. Only shot I got that I really liked. The rest were just meh...
A question for the pros (since I'm a noob) - what can I do about the reflections so that they're a little sharper? I'm guessing it's the waves moving and the long exposure time of 30 seconds is causing the slight blur. If I were to make an educated guess, I'd have to lower the exposure time but then I'm guessing I wouldn't have the picture would appear much darker than it shows in this picture. (the sun had already set a long time ago by the time I took this picture, and there was barely any moonlight so not much available light)
EDIT: Added EXIF details:

Yes, you may be able to get a sharper reflection with a shorter exposure time. Didn't look at the exif but you can always bump the iso or use a larger aperature to get the same exposure with a shorter shutter speed.

I was trying to keep the ISO to the lowest point possible so I wouldn't get too much noise in the image. I'll have to take a pic at each ISO next time to see the differences and what works best.
Hopefully the weather gets a little bit better soon so I can get out and play around with the camera and lens a little bit more. Still learning how to use my gear properly |

syee, Kite is correct.
I have an XTi, and can usually get away with shooting at 400ISO decently well. Also, maybe drop your aperature down to about f/5.6 or so to let some more light in. The lights won't be as starry, but then you can use a shutter speed probably around 17-20 seconds or so....

syee, one of the advantages of digital is that you can play with different settings endlessly and it doesn't cost any extra. Try playing with a variety of different combinations of shutter/aperture/ISO - you may find that even 800 or 1600 ISO is acceptable for what you're doing. You have to balance noise vs. blur, but digital gives you the option to try all the variations so you can go with the one that works best later on.
In this case, you can probably also go with the aperture wide-open, as depth will be less an issue than blur and noise.
