Surprised noone was at Sondre Lerche instead, last night... guess the small names get lost when the bigger ones are around. :p

I thought K'naan was very good. I've heard his music before, but it kind of sucked that he only played for 40 minutes (he opened for Jason).

i was at jason last night too.. kinda disappointed in myself for not bringing the camera out. What are the policies for bringing gear to a concert anyways?

The ticket will have "No photography allowed" or something like that printed on it. The Jason Mranz ones did not.

I should've looked at the ticket before I left the house... Damn it!

Pretty cool i thought!

Setup was 40D + 400mm F5.6L @ F10

^^ A bit under exposed, and a bit fuzzy. Did you use a sturdy tripod and or a cable release?

I'd guess tripod, no cable release... 1/320 would be a little shakier if it was hand-held, I'd think...

Boostslut 10-04-2009 08:45 AM

Not very sturdy tripod, and cable release. :) Time to invest in some decent sturdiness!

Soundy 10-04-2009 09:41 AM

Another thing to remember with moon shots, is that the moon itself is moving, and you can get "motion smear" with even fairly short exposures. (Okay, technically, it's you that's moving with the Earth rotating... but the moon is moving relative to your camera). Even with a good tripod, you want to keep the exposure as short as possible for moonshots.

Went out for a little jam session with our guitars out at the beach yesterday, really suprised at how well the stock flash turned out (I pretty much never use the thing)

The Moon looks best when you use the green channel @ 100%. Here's Bootslut's shot slightly edited.

Thanks for the edit Senna! Looks pretty nice! I'll play around with some of my RAW data to see what i can come up with.
