I really like this lens! The length is just right without to presenting to much distortion and 1.4 is a bonus! Nice edit btw

quick quetions on those photo of science world did you use photoshop to make it vibrant like that or was it just naturally that beautiful! and was it RAW?

I shoot RAW correct. These photos took me a while to think about because I wanted to enhance it quiet a bit but couldn't figure out which colours and tones to use. To some my photoshoping is a lot, but to me it's not that bad. I think once I start making masks and cutting stuff in and out of the photo then I consider that a lot

Thanks J. I wasn't sure between the two. I liked the boat ones because it balances the photo out with science world as well.

i am wondering is there a difference between a 20-40mm and a 17-35mm cause i am planning to buy the 17-35mm but I own a 20-40mm. Also what lense would you best recommend for a scenery shot? 50mm? 18-55mm? and I also own a 35-100mm lense that is push and pull what is that lesne good for?

Still trying out the functions of my camera.
Not so good at it yet.

What can i do to make this not as "bright"
F3.5, 10sec, ISO320, -1EV, 18mm

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4033/...40a1e26b_b.jpg

woozzle 01-14-2010 12:36 AM

f stop needs to go up...iso needs to go down

threezero 01-14-2010 12:43 AM

^^ you should open up your aperture more and have not so long shutter speed. Generally you want a good depth of field with landscape shoot imo f3.5 is too small of an aperture for a shot like this and even if you intend to use 3.5 with this shot 10 sec is WAAAYYY too long of an exposure hence why its so bright. did you shot this in M mode?

J____ 01-14-2010 03:02 AM

^^^ werd. when you shoot night scenes, especially with lots of lights, use F16 + makes the lights nice and star like which cuts down on a ton of 'haze' resulting in a crisper image.

hc529 01-14-2010 01:56 PM

^ thx guys =)
still noob at this, got the camera like last week.
I will try that tonight or tmr night when its not raining that much!
