I think the cleaned up one looks too un-natural, and the sand is way over-exposed.

FishTaco 09-16-2006 01:29 PM

that beach is from the movie "the beach" i wanted it to look perfect just like how they edited it in the movie...for the exposure, it was really bright and i didnt want to have the picture too dark, how could this be corrected?how would you have done it? please edit ... thanks

Gopher 09-16-2006 05:21 PM

^^ Bracket.

Take 3 shots. Underexpose one, for the sky and/or the sand. Take a second with 'proper' exposure, and take a third that's been overexposed to get the detail in the shadows and foliage.

Throw 'em all into PS, align them, then play with masks to get the perfectly expxosed shot.

FishTaco 09-16-2006 06:47 PM

damn, see i dont even know these things :(

thanks!!

Nice angles Mikes, do you have more model work?

Buy a Sony A100 and use the dynamic range optimizer...or do what Gopher suggested. :)

Msg me on msn :).

Here's another. The black top was not my idea. I should've told her earlier not to wear it.

im stuck between rebel xt and 20d ...blah just like everyone else from the threads i read

Gopher 09-17-2006 02:17 PM

Good rule of thumb: get the best you can afford.

If you have the extra cash for the 20D go for it. If not, get the XT or the XTi

MikesJo 09-17-2006 02:56 PM

XT does everything the 20D does. Use the extra money for another lens :).

That said, prior to having my 20D I had a 10D, I'm just not use to the controls on an XT.

dub.dub 09-17-2006 06:21 PM

It only takes time to get used to something as well.

I like the controls on my 20D better because I can switch settings much faster on it, saving me time in situtations.

Cause he knows canon is the best, come on! :D

The XTi and new Nikon D80 look pretty impressive.

FishTaco 09-17-2006 06:56 PM

it wasnt just canon, i was considering nikon but i wanted a camera that had great reviews and reputable name for what i could afford, so this seemed right for me

Senna4ever 09-17-2006 07:01 PM

Pentax K10 looks good, too.

niforpix 09-17-2006 09:27 PM
