Senna, those are great! Shows the power of medium format right there. Love all the detail in the photo's! Where were they taken? On the Island somewhere?

Thanks. Yeah, I can't stand to look at my 5DmkII files after using the Hasselblad H4D-50 & Phase One P45+. Actually, the panorama was taken with a D3s + 70-200 VRII. The other three shots were shot with the Phase One P45+.

Volvoman 10-01-2010 07:37 AM

what settings does everyone use for night shots of the city?

I just aquired a Nikon D90 with 18-105VR :)

ColinK 10-01-2010 07:52 AM

tripod, low iso, and usually an fstop between 5.6 and 11 with a long shutter speed

^He looks so sad!

Got my 85mm 1.8 yesterday and took some pics with it today! Man I'm so used to using a 50mm all the time, most of the time when I went to take a picture I'd go "dang too close!"

i went down to the harbour a couple hours before sunrise this morning, eager to try out my "new" camera and the damn clouds and random fog screwed those plans up. i was hoping to get some night shots of the city skyline, but that was a fail, stupid weather. i did see a tugboat though, in the darkness that was lit by only the light standard on the dock.

also, this is the sharpening technique i used: http://www.the-aperture.com/EdgeMaskSharpen.htm

Fog can add mood to a scene too.
