Pretty much the first time using the camera at night on a tripod. I was getting pretty frustrated. hopefully I can get them to turn out a little sharper next time with less noise. Anyone ever used the custom options on a Canon XSi, noise reduction at high ISO's and long shutter speeds etc? I'm going to try and use them next time.

first time shooting video for me on the 5dmk2. Pretty fun experience. panning/tilting + pull focusing at the same time is a bit tough without a rig haha.

^ holy shit you guys are going to win.

N.V.M/Liquid, i used 70mm on FF, i just found a spot that seemed the closest to shoot the stadium and i walked the entire length from the telus globe :)

@hud91 - that shot looks great!

@mana - the shot on the left looks sort of off because the model's hands are not sharp as opposed to the eye, but i dunno if thats what you were going for.

There's a reason why in the movie industry there are two people working the camera: one to pull focus and the other to operate the camera.

That space looks familiar - Sugar Studios?

ya haha i had to improvise. The other annoying part was the mk2 looses it's LCD live view when it's hooked up to a monitor (or i couldnt figure out how to get it to work). I had to make the camera movements + pull focus, while turning my head backwards to view the monitor that everyone else was watching off of.. lost quit a few takes due to the choppy movement of the pan from the awkward pose. Regardless of the excuses, it made me look like a noob haha. Yes it was Sugar.

I was focusing on the eyes but there wasn't enough natural light to go anywhere over F4.0.

testing a new lens here guys. this was taken, hand held, with just the lighting you see in the pic. would you consider this a sharp lens? are there any basic tests i can try to test the sharpness? i've seen the technical sites where they use crosshairs etc to test image sharpness, but if it looks great in real world shots, that's all that matters to me. the lens is an EF 17-35 L f/2.8, the predecessor to the 16-35 series.
