I dont know...it just seems like a lot of the pics you post just have a little too much contrast...could be just me though. Eithery way, a cool picture! Maybe try the same shot with the lights off and a 10 sec exposure?

^ Fantastic shot, just wish that distracting red line of a cloud on the left wasn't there.

Was the dog black?
I like the border and wide film look. The vig helps to focus on the dog too

For me, there's not enough detail in the foreground...if you do want to keep the foreground completely black, crop out more of it. This is a great skyscape photo that could/would be better with less of the big black expanse.

Finally got my slides back! Here are 3 pics from the 'dewy spider webs' shoot day. Photos taken with the Leica M6 35mm f1.4 on Fuji Velvia ISO 50 slide film. Scanned on my piece of shit flatbed, so the brilliant quality of the slides is totally lost. I'm pissed...I want a dedicated film scanner! I'll bring the slides to the next wings meet.

thanks for the comments Senna. I personally thought so too. It's just a waste of space, but then if you consider the rule of thirds, doesn't that fit right in?

The rule of thirds apply if you have an interesting object to place on the third.

Because you are photographing a very large entity (the sky) and leaving the foreground in shadow, it would better serve your purpose to fill the photograph with mostly sky and a little of the foreground just to give some sort of orientation.

Nice colours.
