Good attempt, but i think it's a bit over done. More realistic HDR processing will get you better results. Keep on taking pictures, and thanks for posting!

A lot of pictures here look so nice. Im playing around with a D5100 with the 18-55mm vr lens it came with and i dont think any of my pictures look as nice as any of these LOL. Everyones images here are so crisp and the skies are so clear. Do you guys edit a lot in photoshop/lightroom? Or is this possible with my camera and lens? Or is it just the skill level?

:(

niforpix 07-26-2011 06:00 AM

^^ Kit lenses aren't usually the sharpest and you gotta know these photos will not be so sharp straight from the camera. Some post processing is always involved.

My cousin has a ranch (sort of) in the boonies of central Alberta (just outside Bonnyville) that I visited recently when I was out that direction on a work trip. Took a number of pictures, including this one that's getting a lot of Likes on my Facebook album, with one of her two horses and three of her four dogs:

I noted that when viewing it on my iPhone, it looked like a painting... still want to load it up and actually apply that effect, but meantime, another friend of mine did a couple other edits to it:
