^ unreal detail!!

Been a while since I've visited this forum so I thought I'd share :)
Went boat camping last weekend and took a couple of shots at sundown.

This is not an HDR, I stacked two GND's with a 30 second exposure to achieve this effect

HAHA SUSHI ICHI!!! YES!!

MegaMan, Mario, Mushroom thingy and is that suppose to be Link from Zelda: A Link To The Past? I can't tell but kind of looks like it.

I went to one of the Sand Sculpture event thingys when it was in Harrison Hot Springs. Pretty cool, I watched them build it for hours until I started feeling sick from too much fun in the sun. Good times.

PS.
The girl in your avatar is HOT!!!!!!

someone start a "Senna and the camera none of you losers will ever be able to afford" thread and re-link his photos.

donjalapeno 08-17-2011 08:18 PM

^ its not about how expensive/big your camera is, its about what you see.

ColinK 08-17-2011 08:39 PM

^ yea...but a medium or large format leica or hasselblad (in this case) at 100% crop will always impress me.

LiquidTurbo 08-17-2011 11:03 PM

Shit, I don't have a Hasselblad.. I'm a 'loser' ! LMAO :lol

Anyway, back on topic.

This is very true depending on how the final images will be used. From a artistic/hobbyist point of view, a medium format camera is way overkill. I can easily make decent 6 foot wide prints from my 5DmkII if I use a good lens and my focus and exposure is good.

However, my client wants me to make him (up to) 20 foot wide high resolution prints. My 5DmkII with its noise at 100 ISO, shitty Canon 'L' lenses (compared to the Hasselblad glass) and narrow dynamic range is not going to do it.

I just got to play with the Hasselblad a little as I was shooting for the client. :)

skyxx 08-18-2011 12:23 AM

^ You just called L lens' shitty. There's gonna be a lot of raging Canon Fanboys/girls. :lol

Senna4ever 08-18-2011 12:32 AM

^^^ I did put "compared to the Hasselblad glass" in parentheses! Hehe...

...but seriously, some Canon 'L' lenses aren't very good when compared to the newer lenses recently introduced by Nikon (the new 24, 35 & 85 f1.4) & Sony Zeiss, but that's just due to the older designs of the Canon lenses. I'm sure when Canon updates the 24-70mm f2.8, it will be at least as good as the Nikon & Sony 24-70mm f2.8 lenses. I hope so, anyway. I own a decent copy of the Canon 24-70, but it's still a little soft when compared to the Nikon 24-70 for sure.
