my thoughts exactly!

Mananetwork 10-15-2006 02:50 PM

I think the second image would do better without the yellow. Greener grass and bluer water!

Senna4ever 10-15-2006 03:01 PM

Man, I gotta go visit Europe....

Meowjin 10-15-2006 06:21 PM

"Flat" means that the image doesn't have good tonal separation. the darkest tones and the lightest tones are too close together. In a well exposed B&W image, the darkest tone should be a pure black, and the lightest tone should be a pure white. Anyone who knows anything about the Zone system will know that this is an absolute must for a good image.

So, in your image, Andreas...you have too many grey tones in your image...contrast is low. Post or e-mail your original to me...I'll see what I can do.

Meowjin 10-15-2006 07:38 PM

Senna I dont have your email.

Do you want the raw or cs2

that's what i wouldve done with it at first try. however that being said, im not really attached to this image - i dont really "get" what the point or focal point of the image is.

You could have gone to my profile page to send me an e-mail. ;)

Anyways, I did a quick & dirty PS job here. From your pic, it's impossible for me to tell what the subject of your image is. To me, the picture is uninteresting and lacks a proper subject. If I had taken this, I would have made the parking sign the subject, so that's what I did.

This place wouldn't happen to have a concert size grand piano would it?

Domani 10-16-2006 07:02 PM

it was in storage, other wise it would have been a good
element in the composition...

Gopher 10-16-2006 07:06 PM

The reason I'm asking, is because I desperately want a super high res shot of a concert grand piano that I can print out and display on my wall, and I can't find the perfect picture anywhere.

K-Dub 10-16-2006 07:06 PM

^ any particular reason you picked that specific person majin?

Meowjin 10-16-2006 07:19 PM

Thats my mother.

MikesJo 10-16-2006 07:47 PM

It's a really nice venue in person :). I watched Chris Botti in it a few weeks back. Not as warm looking in person though but very nice.

Although your question touched a senstive spot, yet we all now
have a much more understanding and feeling for the image.

So I would like to thank Majin for sharing the image and his
emotions with us.
