Good god. Did you bring an SLR up snowboarding? Where's this, looks like backcountry!

StylinRed 01-23-2012 04:44 PM

that looks so awesome

77civic1200 01-23-2012 04:59 PM

Unfortunately I was only snowshoeing =(

But yes I took my dslr with me, I don't go many places without it. This was a 2 night backcounty trip just past joffre lakes. I'll edit a few more pics that show the area we were hiking in, so you can get an idea of the scale of the place.

more than awesome! lol

a Canon 5D, nice! i'm hearing and seeing a lot of good stuff about those.

Ok the shot above is a 360* pano, you can kind of tell by the sun/my shadow.. but the ends would meet up in real life.

This shot is the valley on the right, its where we started from and where we camped. You can make out the road where we parked at the end of the valley, and if you look close you can see the hut we stayed in on the plateau on the right:

(its full size, so you have been warned)

And this is the view in the morning from the hut, of the area we climbed to get the other shots:

And what it looked like on the way up:

^^^ What ISO was that shot at? There's a lot of posterization and blooming in the highlights. Were there water droplets on the lens?

that was at ISO 200, and the lens was dry. Going to edit a few more tonight

this one came out a lot better and sharper

http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b..._DSC1872-2.jpg

Senna, i reuploaded the previous photo. The posterization was probably from Facebook

LiquidTurbo 01-25-2012 07:12 PM

What do you think of the V1?

Matsuda 01-25-2012 09:09 PM

I prefer my D90 =). It'd make an ok travel camera, it was really small and light. But its pretty expensive for travelling. The sensor is pretty tiny. I don't like that after every shot, I had to turn on the timer again when I was doing long exposures. I'd rather have an Olympus EP3 or a Panasonic GH1.

Senna4ever 01-26-2012 02:03 AM

^^^ GH2? I would much rather use a GH2 also. The Olympus isn't very good in my experience.
