that's what i wouldve done with it at first try. however that being said, im not really attached to this image - i dont really "get" what the point or focal point of the image is.

how do you make the image unflat via photoshop?

Add more contrast *bring out the whites and drop the blacks. Seperate them from eachother so the greys have room to breath*

Use curves

spiritofevil99 - I like the last picture the best. I just wish Ovechkin had the full jersey on at the time so he'd have his name on the back.

my first portrait, what can i do better?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...IMG_1048-1.jpg

Mananetwork 10-30-2006 12:25 AM

^^ Alright, well first off never use a on camera flash because it's to direct. Bring over lamps or any other kind of light projecting devices. When setting up a light don't place it infront of someones face, usually to the side or from above (most of the time 45deg towards the face).
Use a longer focal length, people don't really look good with wide lenses becasue of the distortion! I recommend 50mm+

Justin will go from there

Mananetwork 10-30-2006 12:26 AM

Nice colour adjustment and photoshop skills DaFondz. Automotive next time ;)

ColinK 10-30-2006 11:07 PM

What do you think about this front picture? I know the top window is blown out, but that was from the reflection off something else.

Any suggestions on how to improve?

Senna4ever 10-30-2006 11:12 PM

Fix the tilt.

ColinK 10-30-2006 11:19 PM

it's actually on a downsloap, and the camera is level. House looks pretty straight to me...but I've been staring at this computer for a while..is it crooked?

Senna4ever 10-30-2006 11:30 PM

According to my eyes and the grid lines in Photoshop, the house is crooked.
