somthing i was fooling around with, the long walk back to the truck when you forget the keys to your trigger locks  
edit.. just realized the lack of shadows in the first few steps

What do you mean by backlighting?
Most of the shots were at f8, 400 ISO.

Like was it pitch black all light shown came from the surroundings and stars?
Guess that was other photos not super long exposures like these but I thought I recall some people here saying they had used an iPhone/flashlight for a light source behind the camera?

Posted via RS Mobile | The dock was lit by the cars coming in & out of the parking lot and by the parking lot lights. The mountains were lit by the rising full Moon. I timed the start of my images with the Moon rise because I didn't want to blow out the snow on the mountains. Quote:

5DmkIII battery failed after about 2 hours of continuous shooting, but the 1DX still had about 60%...not too shabby...
