Nice shot hangishi

Taken with either a 70-200 f/2.8 or a 10-22. Exif's should still be intact. Little editing other then some b/w conversion shadow and highlight tool and some levels and colour adjustments.

You betcha, I've noticed a few of your shots from around the area before. I live just up the stairs to the south of that pic.

Oh, and thanks :)

Mananetwork 01-12-2007 12:55 AM

^ YOu actually have Soundy on your licence plate or is that a photochop?

Soundy 01-13-2007 01:20 PM

I actually have "SOUNDY" vanity plates, yes.

BTW, 77civic, that Deer Lake pic blows my mind every time I scroll past it... the blues in the sky are beyond incredible. Nice work!

77civic1200 01-13-2007 02:39 PM

Thanks! I appreciate it

I was out trying to see if I could improve my snow shots from last year. The brightness of most of my shots last year made it really hard to expose, so I wanted to try using a CP too see if it would help. Looks like it worked.

ColinK 01-13-2007 02:43 PM

CP?

Soundy 01-13-2007 03:05 PM

Circular Polarizer, I would guess (more commonly abbreviated 'CPL').

77civic1200 01-13-2007 03:40 PM

^uh ya what he said =) whoops

ColinK 01-13-2007 04:32 PM

ah ha! So whats the difference between a circular polarizer and a non circular? Circular just used for wide angel lenses?

Soundy 01-13-2007 07:33 PM

Circular polarizers essentialy 'realign' the light waves after they've been polarized (hence the 'circular' part); otherwise autofocus and autoexposure operation is affected.

dub.dub 01-14-2007 01:55 AM

CP = circular polarizer

to me... the sky looks too vivid (but that's just my opinion :p) and i see lots of noise?

Soundy 01-14-2007 02:12 AM

BTW, a couple links on polarizers:

Ya I was gonna ask about the "noise", that seems to happen to me a lot, but I don't know what causes it. It doesn't look like that on the full size pic? so I think it may just be me screwing it up when I resize? maybe it always happens when you resize something, maybe its cause I suck at the photoshop?

Mananetwork 01-14-2007 12:29 PM

V.I.Guy, that kinda looks like my balcony. Everything is frozen.

The shots are great and the composition excellent; but Sandra Chung must be one twisted freak to come up with that text. I'm all for creative literature, but who the fuck in their right mind would get a europhic sensation from self-mutilation? more poignantly, who would become stimulated by its sight!

Very intriguing.

Do you have any more from her?
