their work is going downhill  |
Just to be clear I'm not defending Benz or the "look" of that CLS63. Quote:
Right you are! so you're sure if he wasn't from HK he would have for the pride to say no to money because its the principle of keeping a car tasteful and clean for a group of haters online itching to give their e-pinion. The guy just posted his honest opinion of how the car sits and how he talked with the customer to form the way the CUSTOMER want THEIR car to look like. I don't see how the "quality" of work being shitty when as a business model is always "Customer's preference" not the shop owner, affiliate, manager or the guy who delivers mcdonalds has a final word. That being said suggestions were made to the customer and in the end. |

from a business point of view, if thats what the customer wants, then thats what you'd do to the car.... i seen shops suggest that this would look not so good on the car, but the customer insists on getting it done... i seen a guy that insisted on putting on a megan racing GT carbon wing onto his mazda 6.... did a mock up and we're all like :heckno: but thats what he wanted... |
I work for a major manufacturer in the auto industry, and I've seen some beautiful pieces of work, and horrid ones too. I hve to agree with lgman: It's what the customers want. Not the shop, unless the work requested will make the vehicle unsafe to operate. I know this shop. Their work is actually pretty decent. I know that sales manager - he's dedicated to the work, and I often see him still there at midnight, putting on finishing touches. So if you guys don't know the business or who runs it, don't talk shit. I saw that benz in the shop when it was being worked on. I admit, that I'm not a fan of the gold trim, but the colour is quite neat. It gives a feeling of brushed stainless steel, but with a blackened colour. Personally, I'd prefer just having ONLY that colour on the car. But at the end of the day, it's what THE CUSTOMER wants, regardless of how good/bad it may look in our eyes. To bash the shop that performed a PAID SERVICE from a customer REQUEST, is immature, and comes to show how little about the business world, regardless of auto or not, these people really are. If you don't like the car. Voice your opinion. But it's not the shop's fault the owner's got no taste..... |

It's funny how you guys shit on cars and the people who drive them with mob mentality. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I personally think some of those wrapped cars are not tastefully done. However, I think some of you guys take it too far and bash them like little kids. To me, those people who take things a little too far are no different than those kids who bullied the fat women on the bus. You guys need to chill when you hop on the vinyl bashing band wagon. |
This is the turning point that will see the acceptance of vinyl wrapped cars. Sure some are ugly but others are ok. I like the MM design blue Gallardo and the orange C63 too. The gold and black GTR and those matte black with red accent cars are still gross though. |
I've been against tacky vinyl jobs and "murdered out" cars from day 1. Everyone else is just a few years behind. |
Yeah sure, some cars are ugly. But then you start hating on the companies that do it? And who cares if they are fobs. They can be brown or Persian and it wouldn't matter. Some members make it seem like only fobs have ugly taste and they say stereotypical things to make a joke and whatnot. I thought we are a responsible community that can refrain from comments that may condescend groups of people. As much as you don't like how they may be using their parents money to wrap their parents bought car, in the end they aren't hurting anyone (other than your eyes, figuratively). So who cares when they wrap their cars and have ugly accents. Let them spend some that money on our economy. |

repaint devalues a car much more than a vinyl wrap. You have option to preserve the oem paint finish as opposed to repaint. repaint causes so much more errors and who the hell in their right mind would repaint a brand new 100,000 dollar ride. |
Just to stay on topic......I don't know if this is hall of shame material or not, but personally I think it is. I did some research, it's the Shark kit...I'm sure it's as expensive as hell but the front throws me off. You guys decide, the wheels prob cost more than my car. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8285/7...7b7e24ab_z.jpg |
Disgusting. If you're going to do that to a perfectly good CLS, should've bought a 300C or something. |
|
^^ I feel as if i have "asma" after looking at those cars..... |
The CLS "shark" was spotted in Vancouver a few years ago; http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a14...g?t=1244951802 http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a14...g?t=1244951935 http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a14...g?t=1244951967 http://www.revscene.net/forums/57915...-body-kit.html |
