They remind me of vinyl over furniture or pocket protectors

Edit: I've actually already got them on, but can't decide if it cheapens my car or not. Too dark for pictures atm.
At the end of the day, it depends on whether you're dressing up your vehicle for yourself, or for other people. If you like it, keep it. If you find people are giving you grief for it, and you care, then take it off. I won't say other people's opinion don't matter, especially if they're being verbal about it. Why not just leave it on, and see if you get positive vs. negative comments from the average Joe, rather than try your luck with an obviously heavily opinionated group of car aesthetic connoisseurs?

That's actually clean and is going with a certain theme. The PT, while it may be going for a similar theme, missed the mark by slapping a bunch of ugly chrome shit and mishmash at it.

I'm not afraid of curbing it, I just like the red outer lip lol :>.
I'll post up a picture in a bit.
@i_like_cats I know where you're coming from, but I figured if the haters didn't hate as much, it'd be alright lol. Posted via RS Mobile
question!
is there a local retailer for this?
when the time comes to change tires, will these have to come off? same goes for wheel alignments because the sensors have to clamp on to the wheel lip to get a reading...

I think it's just hinges you need to buy to convert your doors into scissor doors.
the movement of the doors is out away from the car a little, then up.

Yeah; it's just the hinges in most cases. One of my classmates at BCIT had a pretty nice looking showcar tier CSX with scissor doors (probably the only thing I didn't like about it), you just reinstall the stock doors but with new hinges that open out slightly then upward.
