Did you happen to see a Revscene member or a car with a Revscene sticker on the road or somewhere? Or happen to see a car of interest that you'd like to share with pictures? Post it up here!
I was already given a warning about it, and I rather not punch more holes in my front bumper for a temporary fix. So you know what its going to have to do until thursday or friday.
I have no idea how people can get away with it for more than a few weeks. I have gone through two road blocks in three weeks, and both times have been warned about the plate.
Having no plate is better than sticking a plate in your dash. In a collision the plate will slice off a head
Don't know about the ticket price for plate in dash vs no plate thought. might be worth it to just go no plate for a while.
Christ okay guys I'll take the plate off the dash.
I have heard the comment about the dangerousness in an accident. I really wasn't to worried about it for a couple of weeks. I'm not even driving the car daily right now.
Nonetheless I will remove it and put it in my door pocket. Then if a cop asks atleast I can produce it and hopefully promise I am going to be re-attaching it.
you'll be fine without a plate for a while. if you get pulled over, tell them that your just waiting for the bracket. i ran no plate for a couple weeks recently and drove past multiple cops and they didnt seem to care at all

i second this. i posted this awhile back. my friend got t-boned downtown and his car tipped over on the driver's side. everything that wasn't bolted down went flying including the license plate on his dash which cut him in the face and left him with a 5 inch scar

"Improperly mounted plate" Its like 100 bucks more than a no plate ticket. Fucking cocksucker in North Van gave me a ticket like 4 days after I had gotten my car registered in B.C. when I moved here and didn't have any plate holes. I had no idea it was illegal because I saw so many cars driving around like that.

I live in north van...
There is nothing out here other than BS like this for them to chase after. My car was daily'd out in langley to coquitlam for 3 years with the lightest of film on the two front windows (just to block out UV), 3 days in Nvan and I got a VI to remove the film...
The previous owner of my car drove it for 4 years in BC (originally from Alberta) without ever putting on the front plate as the bumper didn't have the holes for it... how they never got a ticket - or so they told me - is beyond me
^ fuck i got a ticket a couple days ago for tinted windows too...i didn't get a VI though just a ticket..have you gotten yours removed yet?
Yes I removed it myself. It was a pain in the ass, probably more so because I was so furious because I thought it was a non-issue due to the lightness. The law is cut and dry though, so I took it off (but I swore like a damn sailor while I was doing it).
For taking off the tint:
1. Check out MightyCarMods on youtube, they have a good video on tint removal.
2. USE HEAT (preheat the window and then keep applying it while you are pulling the film away)
3. When pulling the film off lift an edge with a razor blade and just grab it with your hands and start gently tugging (Make sure you take both layers, AKA the tint and the actual film, off in one go. They do separate sometimes and it can become a pain).
After all that is done you just have to get the remainder of the glue off the glass (if you used heat correctly then shouldn't be all that bad).
Get some adhesive remover (goof off) and spray it all over the window, let it soak in a little then with a razor blade start to scrape off any remaining adhesive. After you are done with that grab a cloth spray the window down with adhesive remover again, and wipe off everything.
NOTE: I found it much easier to take off my interior door panel so that the adhesive and remover mixture wouldn't drip down into the belt seal of my window.
ammonia, plastic bags and a heat light or direct sunlight was the way i did it.

Good luck!
I used to tint for a living (10 years of film). If you want to avoid the chemical smell and reduce the risk of staining your door panels, use 3-4 drops of dish soap (I like Sunlight) and just spray and razor with good quality razors. This is important! Cheap razors dull quickly and make removing the film much more difficult and also have a right risk of scratching the glass.
I'm a forum newb but if anyone wants a hand with this, just PM me.
^ i saw this car parked in multiple different spot on alexandra road today. stood beside it smoking for a little while and literally everyone that walk by it made comment about how ugly it is
