Animals eat other animals. That's a fact of nature.

Yes but the way it was conducted, placing it within the cage, distracting the animal while he is consuming it thus allowing it to squirm, not natural.

Male chickens fight with other male chicken. Natural.

Where can I go to wager on cock fights?

Perhaps you should PM Jepho and ask him this very question. If you are concerned with his 'conduct' then I think you should forward your concern to him personally. Thats what I would do if it bothered me that much.

Regardless of how an animal is fed, my point still stands - animals will eat other animals to stay alive. It's the same thing as watching a school of salmon feed on live krill. Are you disturbed if you go to the Vancouver Aquarium and watch them feed the aquatic mammals? Would you be equally disturbed if you were fishing and watched a school of salmon go for their food choice?

By the way, watching a school of salmon fight for one piece of krill - be it the head or any other body part - is quite graphic. Much more graphic than watching one 20" bearded dragon eat a tiny pinky mouse. The only way jepho could've committed animal cruelty in any way is if he purposefully went and injured the pinkie mouse.

Animals will eat other animals to survive. It's all food to them.

Either way, we're getting off topic on the introduction of pets. If you would like to continue this discussion, please start a new thread.

Nope. I don't even have a problem with cock fights or dog fights. I'm not PETA. Mentioning it doesn't mean I have a problem with it. Oh and I use to work at the Vancouver Aquarium :) and I've fed my Arowana live fish often.

ALRIGHT!!!

This thread was to INTRODUCE YOUR PETS. Not get political about animal ethics and rights.

Now let's continue on with posting your photos of your beloved friends.

This is my baby, Baby (i know, not a very creative name). His nicknames are smallcat and smallfeet. He's a pure-bred long-haired chihuahua but can get mistaken for anything from a giant rat to tiny house cat! This is him at 2 months old.

Buster and Weezie are brother and sister, both purebred Persian.

Tabatha is purebred Himilayan.

Screech is purebred evil bitch.

Jomo 11-05-2006 09:41 AM

My cat's got Buster's fur and Tabatha's eyes. He's a himalayan/persian cross. He's got the doll-face style nose, not the super pushed in that some persians/himalayans have.

Soundy 11-05-2006 10:17 AM

We got Buster and Weezie "cheap" from my wife's friend's aunt, who breeds Persians... Buster's nose is "too long" for him to be a show cat, and Weezie was the runt (she has no nose to speak of - hence the name - and never grew much bigger than a kitten).

And yeah, and Weezie loves fresh veggies - we once caught her on the table picking through the tomato chunks set out for making tacos :)
