yep I know. I have a dog already, shes just an addition. Shes gonna grow up to be pretty big. But if she inherits her parents traits, shes gonna be dumb and afraid.

ChaKo 01-03-2009 04:04 PM

any updates on your dog trueno? i've been looking into this mix for a while now; well, just a german sheperd x wolf, but i have to wait till i move. i'm really interested in seeing how yours is turning out though.

Truenosan 01-08-2009 11:24 AM

shes over a month old now, shes not with me yet as she hasn't had her shots yet and can't leave her mom just yet.

I've visited her a few times, and so far shes still pretty quite. ( I usually appear after she wakes up from a nap)

Shes getting big !!! and is starting her path of destruction on innocent toys and such.

Mommy and Auntie are stealing the pups toys haha

Thanks, I'm trying to convince my wife that we need a Cane Corso to compliment him. The staffie is awesome he's been great with my kid and a great pet but he isn't a guard dog. If someone broke into my house he'd help the thieves load the truck and then ride shotgun as they leave.

Best dog I've ever owned though and I've had a lot of em through the years.

Hey buddy can you tell me where you got this dog? I've been looking for one, but they are so hard to find in BC! Also how much did you pay for it? THanks!

Ya, they can be hard to find. I got him from Zoobilee Kennels in Chilliwack from a breeder named Fern Owens. She's probably the best staffie breeder in Western Canada her dogs are a very good pedigree with strong bloodlines, lots of Champions.

You can google and find her number but be warned she's a bit weird. From the first time I contacted her to the time I got a pup was about 6 months and that involved meeting with her two times and basically get interviewed she won't sell them unless she thinks your suitable owner. If you call you'll find her weird but she is nice once she warms up to you.

I paid $1000 but that was over 6 years ago if she has any pups now or on the way I'd suspect it will be more. If you call and she says she has none ask her if she would know any other breeders that you might be able to contact, she knows every repuitible staffie breeder around.

^ thanks for the info! I will try to contact her when I am ready. I never owned a dog before, but I'm pretty confident that I possess all the natural characteristics of a good dog owner. I know that staffies can be a be stuburn, but to what extent? Do you have to constantly demonstrate your dominance?

What makes your dog the 'best dog' you have ever owned?

He is not a large dog but he's still big enough to give you that big dog feel. You could throw him around without worrying about hurting him. He's great for walking, joggings, playing fetch, wrestle, tugawar and things like that, very active.

He almost never barks which when I got him was a big thing because I lived in a townhouse at the time. He'll only bark if someone knocks at the door and then it's only a couple warning barks none of that yap yap yap I hate that. When walking him he will not bark at other dogs either.

He's great around kids, my son is almost 3 now and we had the dog long before he was born and he's be nothing but awesome all the way. My kid could step on his head, choke him jump on him and the worst Loki does is walk away.

The cons would be he does have some terrier characteristics. He can be stubborn and mischievious at times. If we have company over and he feels he's being ignored he'll grab one of my kids toys and start chewing it in front of you to gain your attention. He also sheds really fine hairs which aren't really noticed in the house as much but when I take him in my truck it's hair covered.

Overall he's a great dog and acts almost like a shadow to me. Where I go he goes.

Ducdesmo 02-16-2009 03:50 PM

^ ahh the nanny dog at work. I cant wait to get one..really excited actually. Thanks for the info. It just confirms that this is the breed that I want!
