No, but went to listen to some of the people who played in the horn section. Vancouver was a hot bed for cool, hip bands. Chilliwack, Headpins, Powder Blues, Seeds of Time, etc. Bryan Adams........... kind of. Anyway, I'm searching high and low for a pristine copy of the Armageddon LP.

Not sure if I uploaded this or not. I love most things Vivaldi. Especially the opera arias.
And, Roberta Invernizzi is amazing.
I spent many a nights at Sedgewick Library listening stations, listening to the Classics. In particular, music from the Baroque Period. From the days I studied music at UBC.

Based on 24 secular poems from a collection of 254 11th to 13th century works, Carl Orff created this masterpiece about drinking, gambling, lust, etc. O Fortuna is the most recognized song, but the other songs/stories are just as good. In the Tavern is one of my favourites. You have to hear the entire hour long cantata to appreciate this weird but wonderful piece of music.
As for the music itself, Orff really challenges the voices. A very dynamic piece.

I recall when I was music director of a local marching band. This older gent, who was one of the sponsors, came up to me and asked if we could play "Stormy Weather." I never heard of the song back then. I looked at the score and immediately told him it wasn't gonna work. He then started to get pissed off. Why? What not? I was a respectful young lad back then, so basically walked away after telling him it was not in the cards. LOL.

Courtney Youth Jazz Festival Alumni. Damn, the girl has come a long way. Performed at the White House, won numerous awards, including the Grammy, sang and recorded numerous songs with Tony Bennett, performed in all the venues most musicians can only dream about. She's a mom, too. Simply amazing talent.
Not bad for a deaf guy huh!? A real testament.
Mg, you have a fine taste indeed.
edit: listened to this song three times now, and i must say that opening gets more powerful each time

I don't think there's a single track on that album that isn't amazing. Every member of the Eagles is a bona fide artist. Not your run of the mill musician.
