went there on tuesday for lunch, was fairly quiet but teh food came promptly and the service was attentive.... the bento boxes are more than enough for just one person... should've split it with the friends as opposed to getting my own lol

aznrsx1979 07-05-2007 02:34 PM

Went there last night...

for no particular occaision, though the drunk people pointed out it may have been one of our birthdays (which it wasn't) and yes she was 21 not 19 :D

Had some "special drinks" and got fucked...

all for a smooth, reasonably price...

I love this place, and i'm gonna keep whoring it up till Deon tells me to get out :D

Thanks again Deon, top notch service... even with drunkards like me.

Deon, is the Ebisu in Richmond affliated w/ you guys in anyway?

eLuK 07-18-2007 12:16 PM

deon.....
hmmm

did deon used to work in Kamei Royale on broadway (near cambie)???

Obsideon 07-18-2007 05:17 PM

HachiSix: The Ebisu in Richmond is a new sister restaurant offering a similar menu but at the same time catering more to the Richmond crowd rather than Downtown based.

eLuK: umm.. ya... who are you? :p

evilrose 07-18-2007 07:07 PM

where is the ebisu in richmond?

Me and my friends went on Tues night...i'm surprised how busy it got later on actually. Second time for me and so far i love Ebisu.

One complaint was with the calamari that came w/ the Agadashi tofu. The calamari pieces were so tiny but they looked huge cuz they were covered in lotsa batter lol..it's nothing major just something i laughed at.

Other than that i enjoyed the Taco rice and loved the oysters...super deal. And the crab salad was delicious. As always the drink prices are awesome. All around great place to lounge around and chill. Me and my friends might come again tonight for some fun haha.

Yeah I think they took over the old Daimaru location. It's right beside a Starbucks or Blenz and across from the chinese restaurant "Loong Wong Bao Chi"

J'zed 07-20-2007 12:57 AM

yep... ebisu richmond is the old daimaru, which changed to r2 japanese rolls and tapas, which changed to ebisu richmond...same corporation though..

MR_BIGGS 07-21-2007 10:25 AM

I'm thinking of going to the Downtown location on a weekday for some drinks and some food..mostly drinks

what would a good weekday to go be in terms of drink specials or not too busy

4AGmk1 07-22-2007 06:02 PM

went to ebisu for some drinks on the patio with a long time friend from Vegas last wednesday.

wondering how come i got a "Shark" energy drink to come with my Absolute Bull?
shouldnt it have been a red bull??

not a big deal to me but my friend made a point that legally you should have had the waitress mention it before serving the drink.

just FYI for the manager..

Obsideon 07-22-2007 06:33 PM

Hey 4AGmk1,

Yeah the Shark Energy Drink owner came by the other day and gave me some great offers that totally blow Red Bull away because they were trying to win me over. I am currently using a batch that he supplied for me to see what the general feedback would be if I switched to Shark because Red Bull is a much more popular brand name. We'll see what happens when the Red Bull rep calls me in the near future wondering why I haven't ordered from them in a while ;)

The name, is the name, in the menu it says "Absolute Bull". It was just a tip of the hat to the 2 companies that have thus far been supplying me. Absolut Vodka and Red Bull, but the name just implies what the drink is. Absolut isn't spelled the same as the Vodka nor is Bull directly linked to "Red Bull Energy Drink".

Simply formalities. If I decide to stick with Shark then the menu will be updated very shortly.

On a side note. Back in the day at the clubs I always order "Red Bull Vodka" and not once. NEVER, has the bartender ever asked me "Is Shark ok?" when he was clearly pouring from a Shark can?... legal matters eh? :evil

Haha just kidding! :)

PS: So would it affect your decision in ordering the drink if it was Shark and not Red Bull? Your opinion and others would help in deciding if I should stay with Red Bull or switch over to Shark. If your indifferent then I will pick one that can benefit me financially in the long run so I can pass my savings on to my customers by not raising prices and even lowering them! :D

Ch28 07-22-2007 07:39 PM

Haven't tried the Shark energy drink before. Does it taste the same as Red Bull?

RTS 07-23-2007 11:49 AM

yay for Shark.

grock 07-26-2007 03:41 PM

i went down on wednesday to try this place out

food wasnt bad but I thought it was a bit on the pricey side compared to other izakaya type restaurants downtown

the service was very bad

Obsideon 07-26-2007 05:51 PM

You came down on the Fireworks night?

Yeah it was nuts, it was even worse than a weekend night because it was such a huge rush before the show, everyone came at the same time so the kitchen was slammed and I was short-staffed up front because all the girls I hired wanted to watch the fireworks so they couldn't come help the extra shift that they weren't scheduled for :flamemad:

I wasn't expecting it to be that crazy, the next few fireworks nights will be extra, extra staffed!
