At the Broadway Ebisu right now and I'm not impressed. Waited close to 10 minutes just for a server to greet us when the restaurant is half empty.

Is that $8 pitcher special still on or am I too late :okay: I plan on taking a bunch of people out to drink!

Fcukedd 05-18-2013 04:31 PM

Hey does anyone know if this is up to date at the Broadway location? Saw this on the website.

Yes, I went there yesterday and received both of those specials menus. Had the Royale Dinner Boat and found it to be a decent value for $19.95/person. $8.50 Sapporo pitchers still going strong.

Parking underground $4 after 6PM, $2 refunded by validating at Ebisu, garage closes at 10PM.

Mike Oxbig 05-22-2013 02:30 PM

I've tried everything on the menu there everything is worth it except for the Unagi box could do a slight price adjustment. I;d be all over it every single time im there + 6 oysters and beer and more beer :D

Culverin 05-22-2013 09:59 PM

Obsideon,
I'm curious, do you have any personal favorites from the menu?
Stuff that still hits the spot after all these years.

Yikes!... will have to give them a call and lay the smackdown! I'm not there very often, there's a new manager there and he needs to get his shit together, sorry about that!

To be straight up honest I'm not sure how or where other places are getting their unagi, but our suppliers have seriously jacked up the prices on unagi recently so it's very difficult for us to keep it cheap, we are already trying our best to keep the cost low without going under :( ...

Good question, after eating every dish like a million times ... most of the dishes are still good. I kind of go through "phases" if you will. Last month I found myself craving Asari Pasta, Shogun Mini-Mix (Mini Chirashi, healthy haha) and the Stamina Beef Don. I'm usually eating myself so I just get a rice/noodle entree. Also can't go wrong with the fresh oysters hehe ... always eating those!... hmm what else when I come back to eat ... Tiger Mayo, Tuna Tataki ... actually the list goes on and on ... if I didn't like the dish I would have taken it off the menu haha ... I can tell you what I DON'T eat ... California Rolls ... lol haven't had one of those in years! :p

Crazy birthday night today. There was like 4-5 different birthday parties going on.

Were you the guy who kept making the Flaming Lambos for us Obsideon?

PJ 07-20-2013 02:09 AM

Hey Obsideon
Nice meeting you last week.
Thanks for accommodating my friend's birthday, and sorry about our party getting a little too crazy.. I think the booth near us got a little weirded out when our girls started doing blowjob shots off each other..

!SG 07-20-2013 05:19 AM

id have to say, the thunder fries, tiger mayo, and the fresh oysters are staples at ebisu...

Obsideon 07-25-2013 06:51 PM

Sorry our suppliers didn't have any, might be because the oysters weren't that good or fresh that day and he knows we will be pissed if he sold us crappy oysters.

yray 07-30-2013 09:18 PM

$7.50 for Asahi Black :okay:

Do you guys wash the oysters after shucking them? They were pretty bland today.

But Tiger Mayo was :megusta:, gotta try thunder fries next time.

Obsideon 07-31-2013 04:27 PM

That's pretty standard in Downtown no?
We do give some of the oysters a quick rinse just incase there's shell or sand inside.

snowfly 07-31-2013 06:26 PM

Don't know if anyone brought this up yet. They charged 1.50$ for each cup of tea
I've never been to another jap restaurant that charges for tea

Other than that , the food and price is quite good and reasonable there.

dlo 07-31-2013 06:57 PM

I actually got that idea from another Japanese restaurant in Downtown ... hmm ... well it's unlimited refills :D ... and ... we have a great selection of cheap beer and cocktails!

^ i've been to A LOT of places that charges for tea. seriously obsideon, don't worry about it. the 1.5 ain't going to get someone to run away. the key is to have DECENT good Japanese tea with individual pots to justify it, if you're using cheap tea then screw the 1.50 thing.

i don't know about this. technically you're suppose to savor all the natural juices from it and rinsing it is a huge no no. if there are shells = your schucker really sucks. oh well, i totally know where you're coming from.
