The only way to fight it is if you have a dash cam yourself. Those things are plentiful and cheap now.. Get one then if you think you are in the right.. use the footage to fight it!

Can someone explain how you can go east on Grange and merge onto Kingsway? I suspect you mean west.

I find people who drag a story out are lying. Those who tell the truth are simple and to the point. I wouldn't need to mention the road conditions - I stopped - that's it, that's all.

Overall your language doesn't indicate to me that you're 100% sure you stopped. If I stopped and got a ticket I'd be pissed, and 100% sure.

The white Volvo is a retired cop car.

Yes, i believe a dash cam can be used against you.
I'm guessing the op lost the battle, cause in the five year and on going duration, he never respawneded to this thread.

I've done that before for an alleged infraction but i won the case because the photos were not conculsive.
Unless the pictures were taken at the time the VT was issued they should not be admitted to court as evidence. A picture taken later does not represent the situation at the time the VT was issued. Sorry.

If it is your own dash cam, it won't. The camera is your own property and you are not under any obligation to turn it over without a court order.

Like Cho said..

Stopping at intersections
186 Except when a peace officer directs otherwise, if there is a stop sign at an intersection, a driver of a vehicle must stop

(a) at the marked stop line, if any

You see MANY cars ignore this stop sign and drive right through it to beat the Kingsway traffic.
I gotta remember to stop here all the time since I pass here many times.

I remember getting a ticket here back in January. $121 now. (and apparently I got a "break" because I was honest about it) It honestly should be a merge/give way sign there rather than a stop but like someone else had mentioned people weren't slowing down or giving way at the merge so it became a full on stop sign.

There were 4 cops doing a rotation when I got pulled over. I think they probably stopped about every other car that went through that intersection. I'm pretty sure I counted about 7 or 8 cars getting ticketed in the short time (around 5 mins?) it took them to run my plates and write me the ticket.

I never said I was innocent! I just thought that stop sign is useless but I paid my fine. It really should be a merge lane over there.

Oh well. Congrats on winning the dispute btw.

I got a ticket here and a week later they put a yield sign. then they removed it. But I went back and took a picture of the yield sign and took it to court and I won.
