And I guess you wouldn't want to see the other photos either then. All photos include male and female athletes.:o

haha..its like saying motorsports are sports...but are they really? I don't care, i love pictures of bikes and cars racing though....and the race queens of course, haha.

Senna4ever 12-12-2006 12:32 AM

WTF...race car drivers (F1, Indy Cars, IRL, WRC, NASCAR, etc) are some of the most physically fit athletes in the world!

dub.dub 12-12-2006 01:04 PM

^ shot at 10mm and of course that's a flash! ;o you can also see it on his goggles

fenge 12-12-2006 01:51 PM

I think he meant is that an on-camera flash.

K-Dub 12-12-2006 03:27 PM

sb600 with 10.5mm fisheye, all on a d70s.

hard to believe that was almost a month ago.

dub.dub 12-12-2006 08:57 PM

Got the chance to photograph a Junior A Hockey game at ground level, and between the team benches... that was pretty fun. I havent had time to do much editing, so heres the only one that I've finished.

Went today and Wednesday... today was CRAZY

I know it's just Seymour but 49cm last night and 13cm during the day today. SO AWESOME.

I wanna try shooting stuff other than b-ball/v-ball/hockey... :(

I don'tk now if any of you shoot indoor sports but it's so damn hard getting the WB right. I tried custom-WB, tungesten with some WB adjustment, setting the kelvin value directly, and even auto! yet I still can't get consistent WB output from the camera.... urgh.

any pointers on getting the right WB under cycling gym lighting?'

to my eyes and on my monitor, shot #4 is the most "accurate" in terms of colors, and that was right at tip-off, at the center of the gym where lighting is perfectly balanced from all angles. Unfortunately as the players move around the court and lighting changes, the WB goes all over the place, as you can see.

Soundy 01-20-2007 01:05 PM

Shoot RAW and then you can adjust the WB individually on each shot when processing.

All thought the jerseys are white, does the ice really look yellow?!
Take one image into photoshop, bring up colour adjustment and remove the yellow from the whites

Soundy 01-23-2007 07:34 AM

It's pretty yellow-ish, yes... the lighting in the Coliseum is not the greatest.

something I tried to save from the summer in photoshop out of boredom.

[azn angel] 01-24-2007 12:49 AM

too much vignetting imo. but overall a successful image

Soundy 01-24-2007 08:54 AM

I think the vignetting works well in this case, personally. Wicked pic, Majin.

Mananetwork 01-24-2007 09:52 AM

I think you blew out to much of hte background trying to brighten up the biker

Soundy 01-24-2007 10:00 AM

It is a bit, but it kinda works for me in this instance - really draws the eye to the center of the picture and the biker.

So much about a photo is not just how it conforms to technical "norms", but how its various elements work TOGETHER.
