check out Oris - Swiss Made, Good Quality I've had mine for years love it. You also don't see them everywhere which I think says more for exclusivity than anything.

a nice watch that can go sporty or even dressy | Hm, certain Tissot models and Xetum come to mind, both use Swiss movements for under $1000.

Hey guy, looking for recommendation for a decent beater watch. I have a nice panerai that i never wear because its too big and bulky anndddd i'm always paranoid of it getting mess up so its just being a safe queen right now.
Looking for something completely opposite to the panerai. something lighter, relatively thin, medium face, that is sporty but can occasionally be wear with formal attire. budget is $200 and under. any suggestions?

H, under $200 is a tough one..sounds like you want something that looks nice but is relatively cheap so doesn't matter if you break it or whatever. In that price I would suggest a quartz fashion brand...from Craigslist. BOSS, Armani, Michael kors, etc..they are all Chinese made and meh quality, but they do look nice and will keep ticking. Retail is usually around 400-500..which is silly considering they have they same internals as $100 watch from other brands..infact they are usually made in the same factory, right along side the cheap ones. Anyway, retail is around $500, but you can usually find them on CL for $150ish, which is actually not a bad price to pay considering they look pretty nice.
Otherwise, I don't know..maybe Nixon or fossil? Actually most of those high fashion brands are all made by Fossil.

Nothing wrong with a Fossil watch. Sure, it's not haute horlogerie, but they have some nice designs to choose from. I'm not sure I'd want to wear the panerai every day either. Also, if you choose a quartz you can at least be assured that you'll always have the time right
Personally I like gshocks as daily wears - but they won't really suit your needs of thin and can be worn with nicer attire.

I would say for $200 a monster or a skx007 is pretty damn good for daily wear. or a mako xl I find the dial super classy and its roughly 45mm which I find is the perfect size for me

Both have quartz models that is closer to your budget and still uses swiss internals (Ronda?).
Mondaine is well within your budget and Botta Design is a little bit over your budget. Both are very slim and has nice clean look that can be dressed up or down. Mondaine Botta Design
Just got this today in a trade for my Sinn UX S.
Sinn 203 Arktis. Super cool technology. Reliably functions up to -45C with Ar-Dehumidifying Technology.
The blue dial is simply stunning and changes colour depending on the light.

I have a lot of them and it "goest out of fashion" for me really fast, i would prefer a real time piece like a seiko.
however i have super small wrist and these two model are still a little big and thick for my taste. any thing like this from actual watchmaker that is slightly smaller and thinner?

For $100-300, you can't go wrong with a Seiko, Orient or Citizen Eco-Drive if you're going the mechanical route. If you're more game, you can venture over to Chinese movements like Sea-Gull.
For Divers, the Orient Mako or Ray comes in at 41mm which is slightly smaller than the XL. If you want Seiko, the SKX013 is the smaller version of the 007. There is also Bernhardt Binnacle I think comes in under 40mm and uses a Japanese Miyota movement.

SKXs are around $170 when they come on sale, creationwatches and longislandwatch are good.
Use watchrecon.com to search up used watches it crawls on the big watch forums including WUS and you get to save your searches.
