I'm actually debating between that watch and http://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-HML-H...1050230&sr=1-4

The one you mention has another ad by the same seller for $20 difference Amazon.com: Hamilton Men's H64455533 Khaki King Black Dial Watch: Clothing. Is there a difference?

Can anyone also tell me how much tax you have to pay when you bought the watch outside of Canada? Thanks!

garbage. not worth the movement or the watch itself. it was cheap when it was on kickstarter but now not worth it.

If you claim the watch at the border (if you pick up down south) you'll pay GST on the cdn exchange rate of the price.
If you get it shipped you'll pay alot more as you include the brokerage. If you need it shipped see if they have usps option, otherwise if they use ups, FedEx, get them to ship expedited and pay a little more as expedited or next day includes brokerage and fees, while ground or standard shipping to Canada from us doesn't.

Very nice Unique Watch but I can't stand that for nearly a 1000 plus it still has a Mineral Crystal Face. I ended up selling mine for that reason I couldn't stand it!

Thank you!

And they actually have started to use sapphire glass over their mineral crystals.

From what I've learned over the years of collecting watches is that:

- Sapphire glass is more scratch resistant that mineral.
- Mineral crystal is more shatter proof than sapphire.

Personally, I'm more concerned about everyday scratches than I am about shattering my glass as I take good care of my things.

I believe mineral glass is the kind you will find around your house. One thing I am definitely unclear about is whether one has better visibility than the other.

Just my personal opinion, but unless you're buying something unique/special/looks extra badass/a brand you just happen to want, I tend to favour automatics > quartz. Automatics can be had at the same price point of the watch you posted above, but you can appreciate all the intricacies ( and the nuances ) of an automatic.

^ great point, however, due to the fact it's solar power now, i don't mind it at all.

in fact, when i have 12 watches to rotate, i do find it a pain in the butt when i have to adjust my automatic.

I've been thinking of getting a Bell & Ross BR03-97 for some time now. I've tried it on before and seems like BR03 is a better size for me than the BR01. What are some of your thoughts on their watches in terms of quality etc.?

I love the B&R look, but I could never justify the price tag for its movement ( not in-house movement ). But if that doesn't matter to you ( and for most, it doesn't ), I'd say go for it. They're VERY distinctive, in a good way.

Oh, and B&R should have room for negotiation

I think you mean Swatch ( who owns Omega ) , but there are definitely brands which don't use modified ETA movements in all of their pieces. Rolex, Patek, Jaeger, A Lange Sohne etc. come to mind. Then there's avant-garde brands like MB&F, Urwerk etc. Even Panerai is pushing in-house movements now.

But you're right... to most, it really doesn't matter.

Yeh, the BR03 definitely fits better for me. I love the heritage as well, very nice choice and distinct for sure.

Started looking around at watches recently and am really loving the different quality of time pieces. The B&R look is definitely very appealing to me and I don't know enough about all the movements yet so more about the distinct look to be honest.

I'd say that's a good enough reason. Post pics once you get it =).

For those of you with blue collar jobs. What do you wear when you are on the job? I have stretched out my steel bracelet to the point that the watch slide up and down my wrist way too much. Just replace the bracelet with a leather strap. Really liking the look on the leather strap on my one and only watch lol. I don't want to stretch that out too..... Or should I look for another watch that's more suitable for physical activities?
