I bought one a couple of years ago and still holding up well. Awesome everyday watch. I have small wrists and it doesn't look big at all. The ceramic bezel feels very high quality.

My wrist is about 7". I was looking into the Squale but they're discontinued now and I don't want to buy used, that was actually my first choice until I found the Steinhart

Thanks. If I do get it, it will be an everyday watch for me. I know there's some dislike to homage watches but whatever lol

Any suggestions for a watch around $6k

I'm not a watch guy so I was looking for more suggestions other than the omega (speed aster) I was looking at. I have very small wrists, plus, I don't like large numbers on the rotating bezel

Depends what you like. Sporty watch, dress watch, digital, do prefer automatic (there is spring inside the gets wound up by movement ) or quartz (battery) etc...

I have military style Seiko SNZG17 automatic with a NATO strap. Also have a Bulova Precisionist "big blue" it's a heavy big watch. I'd like to get a Seiko divers watch SKX007 with metal band. For under $300 I'd say go with Seiko they are a classic time piece. They are not just your father's / grandfather's watch anymore

Look at watch shops try them out see which style you like. Buying online from reputable dealer could save you money either in ebay or Amazon States.

I like the sweeping hand of a watch. The tick, tock, tick tock watch is Quartz. The one that have sweeps are mechanical watches but you have to wind them up if have been used for a atleast 2 days. If you like a quart watch that sweeps Precisionist are on the cheaper side and some could be had for under $300 if you look hard enough

I'll try to post some pics of my watch

Thanks!

Yes, it's safe to order from them.
They are grey market dealer though so instead of the manufacturer warranty they offer their in-house warranty.

I've never purchased from them before. But i hear they're your typical grey market dealer with no manufacturer warranty. Only their own Jomashop warranty for 3yrs or whatever it is.

Personally, i'd buy from them if i was spending <$6000. Anything close to or >$10,000, i'd like to buy in person especially since i'd be willing to pay more for it for the peace of mind that i can send it to the manufacturer for any sort of work down the road.

Really depends on what you want to buy. For example, if u were to spend a ridiculous amount on a quartz watch, then i'd say buy it from Jomashop since its quartz and likely nothing is going to ever go wrong with it aside from the regular battery change.
But, if youre looking to spend around $5-$8k+ on a in-house movement with a bunch of complications to it, then its really a judgement call since no watch manufacturer will work on a watch thats bought from the grey market.

To be honest, has anyone ever had to take a watch back for warranty repair?

Their prices are just too good.

Ive actually brought a watch back because it wasnt running to COSC standards.
Aside from warranty repairs, mechanical watches need to be serviced. Manufacturers suggest anywhere from 5-8yrs. Possibly even 10yrs depending on brand. (whether youre ever going to service it is dependent on you tho)
When its not bought from an authorized dealer, i believe manufacturers wont even open up the watch.

Now, if you were to buy a $10k in-house watch off the grey market that originally sells for $13k from an AD, what are you going to do when it comes time for service? The manufacturer isnt going to work on it. And i doubt some joe schmo would have the qualifications/knowledge/experience to work on an in-house movement especially since quality watch-smith are harder and harder to comeby these days.

I mean, if youre ok with having a watch that runs 5-10min fast/slow down the road or worse, having a $10k paper weight, then by all means and go for the grey market and save yourself a good coin.

I had my Rolex (GMT Master II ceramic) repaired under warranty a few years back when the hairspring broke whilst golfing. They recently upped their warranty to 5 years, so it does come in handy!

I'd do the PAM 25. It looks so good in that shot. If you do go for a Rolex GMT though, I feel like the batman is a better option compared to the black in terms of aesthetics and retaining its value. My two cents.

Just to update, I bought a PAM 24. I wanted to buy the PAM 25 but had a miscommunication with the seller and he sold it to the next buyer.
Really like the quick strap changing system on the Panerai and already ordered bunch of straps.
Here is a wrist shot with a Stingray leather strap I just received yesterday.
