I think the overall reviews for The German Watchmaker are positive. If I recall, the Tudor Oysterdate uses an ETA movement, so this shouldn't be a problem.
Alternatively, you can inquire with Time & Gold on W. Georgia for a quote. Folks here typically recommend Otto Friedl downstairs in the basement of the [Fairmont] ***EDIT*** Hotel Vancouver, however, my experience with their quotes were high and turnaround time over two months.
As a last resort, you may also want to contact Tudor directly for service. You may be pleasantly surprised by their repair/service costs. I believe their watches go directly to the Rolex Service Centre in either Toronto, Los Angeles, or Dallas, however, I may be wrong. Lugaro Jewellers may be able to help as they are an authorized retailer for Tudor.

so it looks like i might be getting my first replica G SHOCK (i have only bought genuine G SHOCKS and fakes non G SHOCK G SHOCK when i was a kid)
reason for that is cuz i found some housing designs i really love for the dw900 by accident on taobao and im not sure which one i buy
im not going genuine cuz i will be doing the work myself (if i do go through with it) so i dont want to ruin the real thing and im not getting non G SHOCK fakes cuz im scared that dimension dont match
another problem i see is that they most dont have matching back light button, not sure how im going to solve that besides trying the OG color right the first time
if i do get it, i will doc this post it on rs (u know journal style) lol
I went up to a cute chick and asked her if she'd let me take a photo of her for $30 she slapped me, she said to me that "I AIN'T A WHORE!"
But other than that I have seen every car on display in DTP just by cruising about in Richmond, thank you very much for collecting them together and get someone to sing a cover for "fuck you".
OH FUCK YOU OH OH OOOOH~

picked up the fenix 3 with sapphire glass. Was on the fence with the 5 but after watching a bunch of yotube videos went with the 3. I have pretty big wrists so it looks decent
Have anyone been to the German watchmaker for repairs?
I have a Tudor oyster date that the hands don’t move but the date still moves want to have someone look at it any recommendations?
I can fully recommend The German Watchmaker.
Great owner who there to help you instead of gauging you.
Took my Speedy there many years back where a screws on the movement came loose (had sapphire caseback). Got it fixed in a couple of hours and charged me peanuts. Also, he was kind enough to do a quick polish on the hesalite for me for free.

I also highly recommend Norbert from The German Watchmaker. I've given him my tudor oysterdate to work on before when I accidentally dropped it and the hands didn't turn. He was able to realign the hands back on and made sure everything worked fine.
found a pretty decent deal for a Omega Speedy (4800 - possibly negotiable). Not sure which cal but since its 6k new I'm thinking its the heasalite 861 closed back. Wicked deal for someone looking for a speedy and its got an adjustable clasp which is separate order.

That would be a modern speedy with the 1861 movement. And... based on the photos (since he doesn't tell you the model number), the clasp LOOKS like the 3 adjustment 117STZ004666 clasp.
Basically the exact combo I am planning to buy in a month ;o
I'd be totally interested in this if I wasn't so dead set on buying new...

Right! were you the one talking about swapping the back out for a sapphire caseback? I'd be super interested in seeing what that looks like.
Honestly, my 863 is a scratch magnet. It's inevitable. So buy new only if you really truly want new.
So one day I was setting the date/time on my Rolex GMT Master IIc and it broke . Instead of jumping hour hand when setting time it just scrolls around and gets stuck at certain point. Went to several reputable watchmaker and they all said Rolex stopped the supply for calibre 3186 parts so only way to get it fix is to send it to Rolex service center in Toronto. Off I went to the DT Rolex store and they told me sure they'll take care of it but the turnaround time is 3 months
On anther note, I recent purchased a Seiko Alpinist and like everybody said the stock leather strap is crap. Looked up a few strap options and fell in love with this bracelet when I saw a picture of it. $150 is a bit hard to swallow for a $650 watch but I just had to have it.

Yes, that would be me :]
I'm dead set on buying new because it will be my FIRST luxury piece (I don't count a Vintage Zenith I have, worth only a few hundred). It is also to celebrate my 30th birthday... sorta like a milestone present for myself. (I can't believe when I joined RS, I was only 22... now I'm so old lol)
I will be buying mine ~first week of November. Atleast, that is my plan.
I probably won't be swapping on the new case back for a while though. Planning on enjoying the watch as is for a while. The sapphire caseback (and spacer ring / gasket) I bought are stored away for now.
In terms of look, the 1861 movement looks fairly similar to the sapphire sandwich 1863, sans geneva stripes ("cotes de geneve") on the 2? bridges, and a plastic chrono brake vs some sort of metal. The caseback I bought is OEM Omega, so it has the same engravings on the back.
You have the sapphire sandwich right? It will basically look the same on the back, just slightly less decoration :P
