Having done more research and seeing it in person, I think the FOIS is going to be the one for me. I like the sleeker more vintage look of the straight lugs and no crown guards. Shame it doesn't come with a bracelet.

Now for that special occasion...

I rotate my watches between the winder and letting them drain. There are arguments among WIS who believe leaving the watch on a winder for long periods of time increases wear and tear on the movement, and sometimes causes the movement to run either too fast or too slow. I have no experience of this, so I can't speak to it. On the flip side, leaving it unwound for too long can be said of the same train of thought. YMMV.

You CAN buy a bracelet for it though, I believe from the Speedmaster Racing models (the 40mm models with 19mm lug).

Or you can track down a 60th Anniversary model with bracelet (if you don't mind faux patina).

Local? Online? Post some pics of them please
Looking for a box that'll fit 5-6 watches
I have the Wolf Designs 4586029 and I bought it from Amazon. (review here, Amazon link here).

It's my second Wolf product after one of their watch winders I bought a few years ago, and I absolutely love this product. In my opinion, Wolf makes the best watch boxes and winders.

Good luck!

Which TAG is this? And please describe what "arm and a leg" is so we have an idea of what your dollar threshold is? TAG Heuer service isn't that expensive. You could even go to Time and Gold. It's likely an ETA movement that any watchmaker can service.

Are you looking for a vintage constellation or a modern one? The vintage ones are classics, but are on the smaller side at 34mm. Ive never liked the non pie pan ones. I do like some of the globemasters.

If my friends looking for a typical Rolex, like a basic submariner, is it better to buy new or would he save a chunk of money buying used?

Also curious as to the going rate for a service of a common movement.

My 1st gen Orange Monster loses 2-3 mins a day, while annoying, not sure if worth getting it serviced.

I know I can probably get a new gen OM for cheaper, but it holds sentimental value and 1st Gen OMs don't seem to be very common nowadays.

Try TAG Heuer directly. I think it's cheaper and faster turnaround.
