https://i.imgur.com/KHboE9bl.png Managed to find some MoonSwatches in South Africa, of all places. I really like the cream and red combo on the Pluto. Absolutely needs a new strap though - the stock strap is incredibly terrible. |
Is that your wife underneath skinny ?!? That’s some epic hairdoooooo |

I don't know if that would work since the case is plastic I'm sure there are people making matching rubber straps by now.. That could look good |

That's a brilliant watch for $30,... even has indiglo, a million times better than even the best lume! |
I’m a huge fan of timex. I recall growing up, and being dead broke, my parents got me that timex Atlantis watch and I treasured that thing like the second coming of Christ. I even used it (clipped on my vest) as a conductor so it literally spanned 25+ years. |
I've had my eye on this Timex for a bit.. The fourth hand functions as a compass, temperature guage, and tide scale (that's what the three pushers are for). On top of that it has a date window. Pretty cool tech https://images.timex.com/image/uploa.../TW2V22200.png 45mm x 13mm height SeemsGood $175 is up there though for a toy (for me, anyway) |
https://www.timex.ca/navi-xl-automat...ellers#start=1 Timex is killing it with these new automatic watches. Turning into the American seiko |
Seiko is trying to get out of that price range too, so Timex could take over if they want. Citizen is still there too a bit |
I kinda hate to say it, but some of these new Timex really are frickin nice!!! https://images.timex.com/image/uploa.../TW2V64400.png https://images.timex.com/image/uploa...W2V64100_W.jpg Interesting textures even on the dial... fun use of some subtle colour here and there? :notbad: https://images.timex.com/image/uploa...W2V64100_Z.jpg |
thats what im saying!!!! timex is totally on a resurgence. pretty neat considering they were essentially dead for the last 20 years. |

Nice !!! Did you get a good deal ? I heard Japan was cheaper than North America but not as cheap as Europe |
|
Can't stand the way the guy talks unfortunately... So I can't watch his videos Nice macro shots though |

Looks 10000000x better than the stock strap. Have fun! HK Govt just deposited $3000 into my account and it's annoyingly tempting to just blow it on a watch... But the cheapest (non replica) watch I am interested in is 2X that. So nope, save that money! LUL |
youre in hong kong bro, if you dont buy a fantastic replica, then youre losing the competitive advantage of being there. :awwyeah: |

Actually if they didn't try to copy the movement, and put in a Miyota instead, I probably would have done it by now. Faking a case, dial, logo is OK with me, but faking the movement is off putting. Part of the appeal of watches for me is a brilliantly designed movement that ends up being incredibly accurate using gears and a spring. I don't care if it's Swiss or Japanese, but what are the results when someone in China copies one of them? Will they keep time as well? If not, then what's the point? I have read reviews where people buy fake Chronographs and literally can't use the chrono function, despite it being allegedly a 1:1 replica of a 7750 movement. The ones that really don't make sense are the super complicated AL&S and IWC copies that are literally just fake dials. But I digress BTW I priced out what they are going for in China, and they are about $50 cheaper than the sellers who have good reputations and ship worldwide, so it's not really worth the trouble. If you know dealers in HK let me know. But from what I can tell, there's not much of an advantage of being here, other than faster shipping from China. |
I didn’t know how that community works but maybe somebody else here knows. Isn’t the whole point of the replica is to also replicate the movement ? Or are just worried it’ll crap out so you just want a reliable miyota. How much are these things anyways ? I recall reading somewhere that these high end replicas are like thousands of dollars. At that price point it doesn’t seem to worth it to me. |
