K11 is a mall that hongers/twangers like to frequent in Hong Kong
IIRC they have a Swatch store, Cartier, Breitling, and there's a new Hublot store. There's a new Omega flagship opening soon too. Lots of cool stores nearby as well, including IWC, Patek, and AP (which never has watches on display). Lots of grey market shops too with some amazing watches on display. TST is a fun place to window shop for watches.

Haha I walked thru there when I stayed at Rosewood last year. Funky mall, almost like an art gallery. Didnt notice any hongers/twangers tho (aren't everybody there hongers?)

^ Really enjoyed that video, didn't think at first there was any chance I'd make it though an hour+ but it went by really quickly. I love that all of Ed's watches are trashed from a collector standpoint. Great questions and answers.
Something John said really stuck with me "Doing what you love is more regenerative than rest"... such a simple statement but very poignant.

It’s weird, that area is full of mainlander tour groups and yet they weren’t really buying much. Spy balloon told me they used to clean out these boutiques and you can’t get jack shit, but it looks like they’ve all reverted to buying crap back in mainland China so the actual boutiques are empty.
I got this blancpain x swatch for 3k HKD (500ish cad). Not really savings but at least it’s available. it’s automatic albeit a machine mass produced movement that might or might not be serviceable. I keep reading online that it’s 100 usd to buy a new sistem15 movement so for sure not worth servicing it.

100% agreed. Ed doesn't care about scratching it and just wears it cause he wants to. People are too focused on the value of keeping it mint.
That's a nice Tank.. I really like the flatter, brushed sides rather than the bubbly round look. And it's a good size for you too - when you go to reddit these dudes are wearing vintage or women's Tanks that are way too small, then you look at the comments and they're all "Muhammad Ali"
So i picked up two pieces from hong kong
One at a staggering good deal. This JLC Reverso for 9k CAD
Grabbed this at the airport duty free and they threw in 2 free straps. The engraving can be done there, or the JLC in vancouver so im not in a big rush to get it engraved. There's some interesting things you can do on that engraving so im wondering what i should get.
This adds a nice dressy watch to my collection
This fun little swatch x blancpain is also interesting.
Oh man nice, there's some artwork versions of those JCL watches that look pretty amazing.. like the gimmick has a high chance of looking cheap or lame if done wrong but it just looks fantastic what they did with them and when you read the efforts that went into each piece it's pretty wow stuff.
so apparently they can engrave my wife's name in Chinese, or initials, etc.
i was wondering if they can stencil this umaru thingy.
the reasoning behind the reverso is so if you are doing any sports or whatever, you can flip the dial over and protect it. I cant imagine what situation that would be, but sure.
