I think when Holt took on B&R it lost a lot of the appeal for me. You have a premium aviation watch brand across from some digital gucci watch display, there is definitely an image issue there.

I am one that does not mind paying a premium for an eta in an expensive case-set, as long as the brand has a heritage or a unique style. As for BR, I would buy BR-02 which can be found "cheap" 2nd hand, but none of the BR-01 or limited etc.

A good compromise is I guess to get a sterile BR style case-set and pop in an ETA. Probably would run around $500 :-)

Looks sleek and sexy. Black on black Rolex Sub is quite the fashion statement ;)
I have the green bezel Sub.. I'd get the black one too if I could afford it.

TalonTurbo 09-03-2011 08:26 PM

blk / blk rolex sub is deadly stylish.

TalonTurbo 09-03-2011 08:27 PM

the GB did happen, there were 3 from RS and a few other randoms that jumped in on it.

Looks hot. Aftermarket DLC is not too bad, around 5-6K on top. Or if you want it all done up, you can go for PRO HUNTER ones. Those run around 20K I think. Personally I'd get a GMT-2 with aftermarket DLC. Hotness.

moky 09-03-2011 09:44 PM

that bamford looks hot, but would be nice if the seconds hand or something else had colours just for a 'tad' bit of contrast, something like an orange or green milgauss lightning seconds hand :D

PJ 09-04-2011 08:24 AM

Good looking watch.. though personally the colours are a bit toy-looking for my taste.

filth 09-06-2011 01:39 AM

PJ 09-06-2011 07:35 AM

Yeah I think.. however many pages back someone had it painted? or something..

jeffh 09-06-2011 09:21 AM

so im gonna be in Beijing for a couple days in September, is it insane to think i might be able to find a legit Seiko out there for a decent price?

BlackZRoadster 09-06-2011 09:30 AM

^ why would you say that?

Do stores in beijing sell seikos at a higher price than other parts of the world? If so why dont you buy them here in BC?

moky 09-06-2011 09:49 AM

^^ well seiko models in asia vary greatly from the ones that are offered in north america. that's the only benefit i can see from buying it there versus here.

jeffh 09-06-2011 10:08 AM

and i was thinking they would be a bit cheaper? my main concern was how to spot a fake, as we all know what china is good at...

with any name brands, just go to a authorized retailer and there won't be any fakes.

I know there are several models of the Grand Seiko that were only released in the Asia market.
