Must.. not.. engage in replica convo..
For the Citizen, I'd go with #1.. I'm just really not into metal right now. I have a leather strap for my Rolex Sub coming in the mail

I don't like buying anything that's a fake, but I somewhat justify the fact that I own one with the knowledge that when I'm done school I'll buy an identical authentic.

It's going to set me back $400 but I think it's worth it | Wow a 104 replica, man that looks pretty good for $400, but I can already spot 2 things that are dead giveaways even from 5 feet away. Of course $400 is like 10% of the real thing in second hand (no box and papers) market.
I'm not going to say anything about replicas other than that is pretty close. There are reasons why I'd never wear one, and also I can understand why others wear it, even if they can afford the genuine. My biggest beef is that some watch models are harder to sell or trade because of existing replicas.
If you are wondering what's wrong with it, the crystal's AR is wrong, the seconds subdial is wrong, cannon pinion is wrong. I only know this because I sold my 104 to get into the older series Panerai. I think the problem you will run into with the 104 is a lot of guys (relative to panerai owners) have it and its a big conversation piece. I had mine on sale for around $4200 for awhile and still couldn't move it, and I guess it's because of that really good looking replica :-(

I don't like the hands on the 104, as well as the fact that I had a newer one with a closed 6 dial...
If at the time I had an open 6 dial I would have kept it...

Open 6 dial will probably appreciate, it is something a lot of Pam guys like since that is how the some A and pre-A models had it (along with the weird "2")
In house is really nice, especially since that is the direction Panerai is going as a company. There is an argument that the ETA models will actually increase in value but that maybe some ristis just praying their watches don't become worthless (not likely Pams will depreciate).

notjustforshow said it. watches are different than wallets or purses. when you buy one, other collectors/enthusiasts will want to see and talk about your watch. you're just gonna feel embarrassed trying to pretend that its real. or cheap admitting its not.

"WLCM20" coupon code for $20 off (if it's still valid..)
To name a few, some popular ones to check out are Seiko Divers (automatic), Tissot PRC200 and V8 (Quartz), and Citizen Eco-drives (runs off light).
There's a lot of budget-friendly choices with these highly respectable brands. You can't really go wrong.

It's going to set me back $400 but I think it's worth it | The latch on the right, it is flimsy on all the replicas I've seen - the ones ranging from $50 to the $500 replicas.

^I'd like to know too.. sorta. Not sure if it's worth the time and trouble though.
I just went to some random Chinese watch place and they changed mine for $5.

I went to one of those random watch kiosks in Metrotown lol
I think there's a place in Kingsgate that my brother went to too.

Not the cheapest compared to online.
I think my bracelet pin changer was about $25. Was swiss made though.
My screwdrivers from there were about $80 for a set, which was cheap for what it was.
