I actually like Meisters for the sake of pretty casings lol. But At the same time, some of them look really toy-ish.

Not sure how well the rose gold would look on a rubber blue strap. Maybe see it in person? Also, the honeycomb is a different blue. Seems too many different colours and material. I would think it is different in person though, so maybe worth a trip to check it out if you like it.

That's quite the nice winder. I have to invest in one soon, just that I have trouble settling for a cheap one, and by comparison a good one usually is a chunk of change I can put towards a watch. I bet that Orbita was a good investment though.

I like it too...mainly cuz it reminds me of hublot/ulysse nardin

But honestly, I think gold plated watches are ridiculously tacky. It's so "fake ass baller" to me. Personally I think wearing fake gold is just as bad as wearing a fake brand.
That's why I didn't buy my Breitling, I thought the links in the 2 tone bracelet were solid 18k...nope...it's rolled gold. The crowns are gold plated too.
3 g's (grey market) for fake gold :fuckthatshit:

Also, the watchsnob made me realize something...i'm only wanting a 2 tone watch because I like the look of Gold, but I just can't afford it.
I really want a solid gold crosswind or chronomat evolution, but i'll wait till i can actually afford it. When i can, it'll be that much sweeter, as opposed to trying to fake it.

Rather go with a Stuhrling for ~$200, if it's just for the Hublot-like case.

lol that's why i like it too i think well its a "yachting" look ;)

I don't consider coloured steel as fake gold though i just always look @ it as well coloured steel lol be it white, yellow, black, blue, red

although

I remember when i was 13ish and i had a gold tone seiko and i smacked it against the table @ save-on foods and the cashier chick was like "OUCH did you lose any gold?" i was like "its not gold..." and she says "oh you mean its fake?" i was thinking wtf? and replied "no... its just a yellow coloured watch..."

k enough e-stalking this brand lol

notjustforshow 10-20-2011 03:45 PM

So my girl, wanting to be unique decided to not get one of those ceramic white watches that are popular right now. I showed her my old base pam and she decided to get her own LOL!

Just back from the AD to see if they had any more feminine straps, as mine are all vintage looking. I'm only allowed to borrow it for a short time span lol.

StylinRed 10-20-2011 04:29 PM

a chick wearin that :crazy2: nice watch though lol

ShyGuy 10-20-2011 04:43 PM

haha..yah I think it'd look funny if a girl was wearing a PAM...

BlackZRoadster 10-20-2011 05:07 PM

asian girls and women wear PAM overseas. Very common

notjustforshow 10-20-2011 10:06 PM

Yeah i felt it wouldn't look good on women, but she manages to pull it off. Had a light grey strap with it that went well.

Best thing about pams, is that they have high resale. If she didn't like it chances are we could resell it for +/- 5% of what we paid.

What do you guys think about: Grand Carrera Calibre 17RS2 Automatic Chronograph
http://www.replicachinawholesale.com...9143141692.jpg

Grand Carrera Calibre 17RS2 Automatic Chronograph - timeandgold- CAV518B.FC6237 Grand Carrera Calibre 17RS2 Automatic Chronograph Watch- TAG Retail CA Authorized Retailer

It's $8,000. Something more affordable but in similar style would be nice. My ideal budget would be around $1000-$3000.

Never owned a watch over $400, just want to buy a gift to myself. :concentrate:

notjustforshow 10-20-2011 11:06 PM

Try and source a used Grand Carrera, you will be surprised how low they can be (if you really like it).

PAMS, Daytonas, Subs.. Was in HK last week and there were too many young kids in the MTR wearing these watches.

Sign up for the wolf designs mailing list. They go on sale for 50% all the time. I always pickup the new module 2.7's (Viceroy Double/Triple) for a smokin deal.

Sort of agree.. to some extent.

But many things just don't work.. especially in fashion.

Nice watch, but I have to agree the big face kind of looks awkward on a girl's small wrists.
Makes me think of a girl just trying to be cute wearing her boyfriend's watch, hat, t-shirt, etc.

notjustforshow 10-22-2011 01:32 AM

We'll see, she bought it on her own, and picked it on her own. I may trade for a white faced one for her in the near future, as they seem more feminine. She seems to carry it well, doesn't seem manly at all, just that for now we have a cheap off white strap on it.

Yep she does have small wrists, but keep in mind luminor pams are mostly 44mm, the illusion is that they seem large because of the crown guard and dial. A lot of women's watches are 40mm now too, so the slightly larger look seems to be more accepted.
